I live in Forney Texas, about 13 miles east of Dallas. We have a 66 Mustang that I bought for my son to drive in 1978 while he was in high school. We have a 1957 Chevrolet 210 Four Door sedan that my wife won in a drawing, in 2007, from a company celebrating their 50th year in business. We have a 1982 Red Corvette, a favorite of my wife, it was her 60th birthday present in 2000. Last year a close friend passed away leaving a 1987 Chevrolet Classic Station Wagon with 25,000 miles. My friend bought it new in 1987 and only drove it for a year or so then he was in and out of hospitals until he died. Every year I would go to his house, take it out of the garage, service it and drive it about 5 miles then back to the garage. When I bought it, I put in a new headliner, battery and serviced the engine and it runs great. No interior or exterior damage. The only problem is the filler panels used behind both bumpers are cracked and I can not find replacements. Maybe ya'll can suggest something.
George. Sounds like quite a collection there. Sorry to hear about your friend, but it's nice to see people who help others out whenever they can. I'm sure he's pleased you have his wagon...you clearly know how to care for it and it means a lot to you. The filler panels are starting to become a little easier to find, as the demand for them is starting to go up. I have a Cadillac Brougham...these cars have filler panels all over the place. In the Cadillac-owners forum, they talk about resources for replacement panels. I'll skulk around and see if any have Caprice panels. Update: I think I found the front set for you... http://www.autobodyfillersusa.com/servlet/Categories?category=Chevrolet:Caprice+/+Impala And another update: The rear set (most of the way down the page... "80-90 GM Station Wagon" listing) http://www.replica-plastics.com/EditParts.aspx?Make=Chevrolet
