    Brakes...

Just got mega brakes ! Had been stammering at stopping ( have had wagon about 6 mo. now.) ..learned that there are only rotors on the front ( didn't know that ) they were warped, pads worn, those got re-machined , and new pads and rear shoes replaced, and drums re-surfaced and new break cylinders ( were old/leaking), bearings repacked. cha-ching.:49:.. but worth it I figure.
Next project, save some cash and replace front and back rubber/plastic bumper insert things, and poss. replace front guards, and get wagon detailed. IF AVAIL. sigh..... hope they are. Gotta order them to find out. Will keep ya posted.
The yellow Honda S2000 needs some brakes tweek'd too.....one thing at a time.. haha  Finally got it free from the storage unit... ZOOM ZOOM.! :yahoo:

Oh yeah...and I replaced the EGR valve...me. Was easier than I thought...just had to get the air filter off etc, and line it up proper, and scribble the orig. number on the new one as suggested in instructions. (y) I'm all over it. ! Did a few hose replacements when I got it home...found some had holes, others were missing ENTIRELY. oy... easy fix tho. Made a difference. :icon_drive:

Starting to lay down paint in the '58

Began painting this week. Crap.. first 2 layers I looked at were filled with fibers and crap.. Oh that's right.. not only did I degrease with a terry cloth, but also forgot to tack afterwards... I believe I was a bit eager... so sanded down and resprayed. Turned out better. It'll be a good 10 footer and that's ok with me.. I'm building for a daily driver.. not show queen.

    Crappy pics.. took with phone.

Got the A/C recharged in the 73 Ford wagon today. I guess all the R134 leaked out over the winter...works good now.

Nice to see paint going on that wagon Super! Don't worry, it'll buff out.

Well, today I tried to install a tach.
No problems with the wiring, I had a diagram.
No problems with fittings or screws because there is lots of stuff at hand.
No problems finding a place to mount it either.
Only problem is that it doesn't work. Upon disassembly all the bits seems clean and well made dated 1963 (Suntach). Nothing outwardly burned out and the needle moves freely across the sweep with a shake of the can.

Guess it's time to search eBay for another one.

Would putting the wagon on the hoist count? Hey, that happened after several weeks of figuring out the wiring issue with the DW's baby, her S-10 2dr 2wd Blazer. What a hassle that turned out to be, and low and behold, after tearing the whole dash out it turned out to be in the cruise control stock on the column.

So now the wagon gets the attention. Well, after a few days of camping on the beach come next Monday - I need the rest.

Started tuning the '72 Torino wagon last night and will be spending the next few weekends getting it ready for the Ford meet in Bristol (end of June). Not a lot of room to work under the hood with that 429, LOL.

:slap:Still in the hunt for '72 woodgrain mouldings.

Found a Thule Roof Rack locally that fits the rain gutters on my Eagle this week. Came with a front wind deflector and I'm thinking about vinyling it wood grain! :)

Drove the wagon today after finally getting the vaccuum leak fixed and replaced the broken starter. Runs alot better but still has that weird "shutter" at around 30-35mph. I give up, it runs great everywhere else, idles great, cruises down the road great. I replaced the spark plugs with Bosch Platinums and I am wondering if I should have stayed with the old style plugs. I am in the process of pulling the front bumper to get it leveled up and going to sand and redo the silver inlay. I will get pictures once I get it done
