    packed up

Well unfortunately, I packed mine up this week. Going to storage for a little while till we get a house built. Hopefully we'll get her out in a few months and finish her up. Got the 4 point roll cage in it and finished the bodywork this winter. Now time for all the fun stuf like, installing the interior, building a 351 Cleveland motor w/ 5 speed manual trans, and the final black cherry paint. Hope to have it done by next summer. Then a long road trip around the country... Hope you all can help me out with some car shows when it's time for the trip, would love to meet some of you!!

I haven't added much on this post for good reason. I've done nothing to the 55 Chevy wagon. But that all changed today. I opened the garage doors and started up the wagon. With a Holley 750 carb on a 305, overkill, it started before I even heard the starter turn! Damned I'm a good tuner-upper.
Listened to the glass-pacs rumble about 30 minutes, revved it up over 5000 a few times, turned it off, shut the garage.
Love the look of the new Dakota blue digital dash. All systems appeared right. I even played with the cruise control knob a little. :rofl2::clap::rofl2:

advance auto sells the oil cooler line assembly. I needed one for my 96 earlier this year. Comes as a set you will be replacing both sides. Took about an hour (needed to free up rusted lines on the radator watch that bottom one it can be real bad)

Turned out the oil cooler lines are on the other side of the car. Amazing what you can learn in the daylight. :) I'm thinking that I likely have a power steering problem now.

After two years the Surf wagon has it Ranch Wagon side trim back on finally. Took me 6 hours to do it and the last piece went on at dusk so no pictures unfortunately.
    But it's DONE!

Just bought those too!!! A real pain to install you have too empty the cooling system because of how they are routed. :(

As for this one, its a full on restoration. Getting new Fuel tank and Rockers from WA since they are rust free. Lots and lots more to go, hopping to get it driving within the next month.

    Started with this:

Dude, that is one serious Subey! Love to see some other AWD/4x4 wagons out there! Good luck with the restore on the other one. I saw one of those older body styles in a used car lot in OK last summer. I never knew they shoved the spare tire up front until I saw that one with the hood open while I was driving by. I turned around and had a look at it, but it was a little too much for what it was.

My AMC Eagle got neglected today. I rode the motorcycle to work.
