Thanks for the warm welcome. My plans for now is to get the brakes working as they currently don't, then go over the rest of the mechanicals, and a good cleaning. After that "I" want to replace the brakes that we get working with disks brakes and airbags to improve stance and ride. Wheels and Paint. My dads plans are a little less ambitious but I think we'll be able to find a common ground

This will be a marathon not a sprint. I'm looking forward to working with my dad and I'd love it if my kids want to participate too.

I will get more pics up once we've got the car home.

Welcome! I'm a Pontiac fan myself, so I love to see more of these being saved. I've got some friends up in that area that make it to the Back to the 50's every year and say it's great. I'm sure you will have fun with that wagon. Keep us posted as your progress and load us up with pictures.

By the way, you might consider doing the disk brakes to start with. That way you aren't putting money into something you know you want to replace right away. Check out Scarebirds adapters. Get those and you can buy standard parts at your local store without a huge big investment. Brackets are about $160 and then you just buy rotors/calipers. After that it's the same stuff you'll be buying to fix the old drum brakes anyway. (hoses, lines, m/c, booster, whatever...) I've got some I'm going to put on my '66 and will be purchasing a set for my '58 shortly.

And check out the great Pontiac site... Lots of good info/parts and a good forum.

Now...about those other pictures of your car you promised.... (didn't you?)
