I'll attach a couple pictures of one car that I really regretted selling. It was a 77 Pinto Cruising Wagon with the wild stripes and port hole windows. It was really loaded with options, V6, A.T.,P.S., P.B., A.C., cruise, map light, 4 way adjustable driver seat, aluminum wheels. Very cool old Pinto. The paint was poor on it, but the body wasn't too bad. I drove it for a few months and then the ring gear on the flex plate got bad and the starter would make the embarrassing grinding noise. Instead of just replacing the flex plate, I got the genius idea of putting a 4 speed in it. I had a Mustang II with a V6 and 4 speed, so the pedals and trans should go right in,,,right? Wrong? After already having the transmission in, custom cut driveshaft and everthing underneath done, I discovered the pedals were totally different and that the floors are different so the clutch pedal hit the floor before the clutch would engage. I cut, welded, recut, rewelded until it finally worked but it pushed so hard, it was like driving a semi. Just ruined the car for everyday driving. I put up with it for a couple months and then sold it on Ebay. It was a great little car and really got a lot of attention. I wish I would have just left the A.T. in it and kept it. I would like to find another one someday,,but my someday list is quite long, so that will probably not happen. I also had a 74 Pinto Squire wagon in the dark gold/light brown metallic with the woodgrain. That was also a very good looking, nice little car, but it now gone also. Oh well...hindsight.

I love those cruiser wagons from the 70's... I seem to like a lot of "non-collectible" type cars tho'.. I like the mustang II's, the Cobra IIs, Pintos, Vegas... heck.. I even like the Gremlins.

Keeps your eyes peeled. I do see them advertised from time to time so they're still out there. Good luck! :tiphat:

    Neat little Pinto.

Friend of mine had one in college; we called it the "otnip".

    (That's Pinto spelled backwards)

Really???? Thanks,,now I don't feel like the only one. I am currently building a Mustang II (a coupe even). Everybody who sees it or that I tell about it,,just says "why?". I have a cool vision for it,,,60s retro look, so I'm hoping that it changes a few minds when I get it done. Those Mustang IIs,,,and the others you mentions really don't get any repect.

I like it! Particularly because it doesn't have the porthole window that the factory ones did. I hate porthole windows.

Booo! The porthole windows is what that whole period was all about. When those pintos came out it was during the custom Van hay-day where everything was VAN. Those pintos were trying to copy the van look with the portholes in the back. It's all part of the like... retro scene man! Gotta have the portholes!
