Just letting you folks down under know that we are watching the devastation that is happening in your part of the world, and hoping that things turn out okay for each of you and your families and friends. Keep us posted, as you can, on how you are doing.
I 2nd what Saf said to all our friends in OZ. I've taken a river launch ride 'bout 20 miles up the Brisbaine River and couldn't believe what I was watching on the news. Hang in there Guys 'n Gals, Jer
it is incredible the pictures on the news...you know our thoughts are with you guys and those you care for...keep dry
I've been following this from the beginning and I've never seen anything like it. This flood is HUGE. Good luck to all of our down under members!
I don't understand what's going on down there (it's supposed to be their summer....), but you folks in Brisbane and the outlying areas are in our thoughts and prayers......
So it's been a year and last week my wife said they were getting 300mm /day (again). One day was 80mm in 1 hour! For those that mentioned it, summer is our wet season (we are subtropical). Winter (June to August) is comparably dry with low 20s high teens (celcius ). Thanks for all the kind sentiments too. I probably should have dropped by last year, but I was too busy paddling.
I did a youtube clip driving in the rain on the way home. If you search for the user "visual tonic" watch the clip called Weather Report.
Why don't you just post up the link?, so us with slow connections don't have to wait 30 seconds for each page to upload.
Slow connections? I'm in Papua New Guinea. I think my slow connection may trump your slow connection at the moment! Oh wait, I just realised where you are too.
In addition to a slow connection I also have a filter that excludes social media, youtube facebook, twitter etc.
