did the same thing as Dewey did :). But i had 2 beers and there was a group of us. My wagon rests with 20 other classics in a warehouse and there is a meeting every Sunday.

Bought a new six pack.. sat next to the car.. drank first beer and visualized. Got up.. sanded a little putty.. sat down.. had beer #2. After Beer #2 I put on some Journey... popped the hood.. had beer #3. Sanded a little more.. then primed door and had beer #4. After beer #4 I grabbed beer #5 and put it on the bench. Popped the door open on the '58.. vacuumed out crud on floorboard and finished off beer #5. Went to the beer fridge.. looked at that lonely #6 beer and grabbed it. Sat on bar stool in garage.. looked at Chevy.. drank #6.. called it a night.

Here is the console I made. $12 oak board from Menard's, $8 for stain. I wanted to make it with speakers in it but it was just to bulky and crappy looking. So, I am making some small boxes out of the remaining oak wood to mount speakers in and then mount under the dash. The console will still be removeable and I don't have to cut, modify anything on my car which was my original goal.

I applaud you for not hacking up your dashboard. Looks like a perfect fit. Even have room for a gauge or two if need be and maybe a couple toggles! Great job!

Started knocking the 1/2 thick bondo off the tailgate, only to reveal more crappy bodywork.
Thinking of patching in an Elky, skin.

Well I am new here (did my intro a few days ago if you missed it!) so HI if I haven't talked to you before. I'm trying to get the fire stoked under me to finish up a 1960 Studebaker Lark station wagon I bought in 1993. My goal is to have it on the road again this summer. So what I have done to my wagon lately is... today the new, correct gas cap I bought on e-Bay came in the mail and I installed it immediately. It really sets the paint off I think.

I look forward to meeting more of you!

Welcome to the wagon train Mike. The gas cap looks great and really does make the paint job 'shine' .... Cool wagon, can't wait to see it back to it's glory!

I made some more progress today. The engine is almost ready to pull. I've taken my time disassembling it down to the shortblock . It makes it easier with the hood on to pull it this way Torque converter bolts & 4 bellhousing bolts left & I'm fixing to go pull them after hitting the submit button

I started to pull those bolts & noticed that the trans has a nice coat of grease form the intake leak so I'm pulling it too to clean. It had been parked for quite a while then put back into service & all the gaskets were dried out & she leaked everywhere.

When we hit the Cruises & the shows people are not going to expect to see the amount of detail & engineering that has been done under the hood of a wagon.

I do NCRS quality Corvette restoration so it's going to be sharp.

We actually took our 1977 Orange Vette to original Bloomington gold several years. Was fun going on the cruises. Ours was never a show car altho nice. It was that rare orange that actually looked good. Had special cloth weave and leather interior.
We could always find it among the 1000's of red and white ones.

Well, she's parked until spring, but I looked at her lovingly and thought about how I can't wait to be back on the road in my wagon.
