I was at the U-pull-it joint here today, and wandering around found a rustfree 78 Matador wagon...what a shame. Hell, I would've gave the guy $400.00 for this thing. Had a complete 304 V8 in it. I've always like Matadors. Had a friend in high school, Walter, that had four Matadors over the years and they were all pretty good cars....

What would it take to get it out of there and into a safe place?

Once they go in, they're basically on "death row". They average about 3 months before they get crushed. So you gotta pick what you can to save before the hammer drops.....

I worked for an air freight company while in college and drove a Matador wagon most of the time doing pickups(small package freight). Drove all over Atlanta in heavy traffic with that thing, it was a great car. :)

Sad---I try to stay out of those large crushing yards since I've retired and have a weak heart. There are nicer cars in those yards than I see on the roads around Florida.
People are convinced they are helping America. Yea right! Then they buy another car made in another country.
They spend more on five year loans to pay for them than it would cost for one month's payment to get the other car fixed. :banghead3:
