LT1 engines were used in trucks?? If it was there would be a lot more of those trucks in boneyards and anybody that owned one would be driving a Ford truck now. You don't see many black RMW's, pretty nice, I'd be checking it out if it were closer.
Pretty sure that's a tan interior, W88. I'm not saying they didn't put grey in the Roadies but I have never seen one. Fact is, when I spent 2 years looking for a wagon I looked and looked for a black on grey and never found one. I think the tan leather color is distorted by the florescent lights and the tint. Note the carpet color.
This brings up a question that I've never seen a satisfactory answer to.... Why were there so few black Roadmaster wagons? A black RMW with wood looks awsome. I would have thought it would be one of the most popular colors, but from my experience of what I've seen, the color is among the rarest. Is it because wagon buyers typically are family-oriented and tend toward colors that are easier to keep looking good? Any thoughts out there?
I've always figured it was because black cars get so hot in the summer. Black, plus the amount of glass on these would make it a rolling oven.
AMAZING. I generally drive two or three different vehicles a day and having become semi-familiar with these this year, I don't know why they aren't bringing 30,000. Shhhh
I believe eventually they may get there. I've seen them mentioned as 'future classics' more than once....... Once all the poor condition derelicts have 'gone down the road' and the total number of them out there drops a little, the used prices should start to climb a bit....
