Stumbled upon this forum looking for mid 80's 4 cylinder FWD GM wagons! Last wagon I had was an 83 Malibu in rusty blue. Miss that car, just not the 305's gas guzzling! Just wanted to stop by and say hi! Jim
Thanks All, glad to be associated with the head Nuts of this Nut house!!! Have enjoyed reading thru some of the posts last night. A little more about myself, as I did not put much in my profile: Currently I am active duty Marine of 16 years and will be deploying again very shortly, try like in 2 weeks! Yay, the armpit of Africa, round 2! Oh well, comes with the territory. I have been married for 14 years and currently have 3 kids, with the oldest one heading off to Parris Island Recruit Depot 2 days before I leave for Africa! Yeah, the house here will be a bit quieter and empty very soon. I have been a Chevy nut for years, but have strayed quite a ways do to reliability and innovative issues. Had an 83 Malibu Wagon, 84 Camaro Z28 and an 85 Monte Carlo (tried to make it a hot rod/SS while it was a daily driver = it broke down a lot!!) They were all fun, but as daily drivers and parts eaters it wasn't so good. The wagon was so nice with all its room and shared many parts from the Chevy line-up those years, definitely miss it! But I have been on a search for a mid 80's Eurosport wagon, to no avail, for a side project. As soon as what I owe on my current ride, 02 VW New Beetle Color Concept 1.8T, is down enough to sell, it will be gone in favor of a Newer wagon, looking at something that I can take a little off the beaten path, ie Forrester, Outback, etc! And that is about it for me. Hope all that made sense, as I am trying to type and get drywall mudded and sanded at the same time! Yay, DIY home repairs! Cheers all! Jim
Sounds like you're busier than a one-armed paper hanger! Thanks for the intro. Take care over there in the Armpit. My drywalling starts this winter. The SWMBO has me doing landscaping and siding and insulation this summer/fall. Actually I grumble but I like saving $120 to $160 per month in hydro bills for 8 months of the year. More $$ for the hobbies.
O, i know about the home repairs. My hands are just recovering from landscaping the garden. But I hope you manage with the new wagon, and come home save!
Thanks Roadking, and yes I search the heck out of Craigslist, using the www.craigshelper.com website to search multiple areas at one time. Jim
I know I'm late to the party but . I was computerless last week and enjoyed it but missed everything going on here.
Ditto, thx for posting that link.. I can't tell you how much time that's going to save me. .. ... oh .... BTW, welcome
