This is a one of a kind car and one of the most unusual Corvettes in existence. It is half Corvette and half Cadillac Eldorado, hence the name "Eldorette". A well known car builder, Mickey Vaughn of Chattanooga, Tennessee, built the automobile. It contains many aspects of a Corvette and an Eldorado. It has the original Corvette L-82 chassis with the 350ci 210hp V-8 and an automatic transmission. The turn signal lights have the Cadillac emblem around them. It also has the Cadillac vinyl top. The headlights are from a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass, the taillights are from a Chevrolet Chevette, the rear bumper is from a Ford Granada and the rear spoiler is from a Ford. The grill and front spoiler are hand laid fiberglass. Originally finished in White with Red velour interior and was re-painted in 2003 in Ford Mustang Firestorm Red and the Vinyl top was changed to Napa Red. It has a very unique fiberglass body and is not a kit-car. It is a one-off creation. Over $200,000 was spent in time and materials creating the molds and assembly of the automobile. All numbers match and it has just 60,214 original miles. For more information call (417) 335-2600
Some people consider customs as that being pretty cool .... but not my cup of tea. I would rather see the vette and caddy parked side by side in my garage and not morphed into one car.
Agreed. Creations like this, however entertaining or well intentioned they may be, usually wind up combining the worst of each into one. A Caddy that rides like a 'vette, or a 'vette that handles like a Caddy. Yeah.
From the front it could well have been a Batmobile if the TV show had lasted into the 70's (Just paint it black). From the back, it looks like it started out as a Gremlin, but had the roof altered.
So many things on so many levels. Looks like the 70's threw up on a Citation with a body kit. (((shudder)))
That reminds me of the Radio Shack ads. This would be great for one of them. They show something that sucks and play a buzzer sound and SO WRONG pops up on the screen. So they could show this car and say SO WRONG. And then they could show an XLR-V and say SO RIGHT. Wow. Just wow.
If I had money to play with, I'd buy this. I like 'Vettes and Caddy's. My dad loves 'Vettes, but hates Caddy's. I'd tell him "I'll meet you half way" He wouldn't be happy with compromising when this pulls in the drive haha!
When I see someone driving around in something like this (well - there's nothing like this, but you all know what I mean...), I get a mental picture of the owner.... - Late 50's early 60's male - Partially bald at least (hey, so far we're describing me.......) - Pat Boone shoes - Adorned with (fake) gold - 'Loud' - Drinks too much - Obnoxious - Oblivious to what he looks and sounds like - Most common occupation is a used car salesman on a small lot.
Man oh man....you have described so many guys that I have seen around that fit that mental pic perfect, KK! And I think you are right about the owner of something like this car. Have seen too many of them.
