Wagons have seemed to have an increase in popularity over the past few years. When I bought my Caprice wagon, the only wagons in town were that one, a 77 Country Squire, and an Electra Estate identical to my Caprice. The Electra, the guy had owned since new, sat over the last year and now disappeared. I always wanted that car and asked to be let know if it was going to be sold, but I digress.

I've noticed quite a few wagons out and about lately. I just got offered a Custom Cruiser that is sitting around the corner from me. I've seen quite a few bubble wagons around, a few Caprices, too. I saw a Colony Park a couple weeks ago. Come to think of it, I saw two recently. A friend and I were coming up from Columbus on 16 and I joked to him, "I sense a disturbance in the force" since I saw an older Vic or Grand Marquis coming at us. When it passed, it was another Colony Park, identical to mine.

Also, I had a friend ask if he could stop by the other day, he had never been here. I told him that I live above my dad's gun shop and to just go to the door behind the wagon. He got here and asked me if I had a different wagon and what door I was talking about. I asked him what he was talking about and he had gone to the front door, not the back, where my door is. There was a woodie Roadmaster sitting out front. I saw a couple wood-delete ones recently, as well.

I've also noticed a few of the little Century wagons and their Pontiac equivalents out and about. I've taken some pictures of some in my travels, I'll try to remember to post them up.

Anybody else notice an abundance of wagons in their area?

Here are some of the photos.

Dad actually came and got me when he saw this outside from the shop. He thought I had moved my car across the street haha. Close, but no cigar!

Couldn't resist the chance to park next to another wagon.

I see this one around Pardeeville quite frequently.

Got this one in a text. My friend said "Saw this in front of me in the drive-through and thought of you lol"

Non-wagons, but I thought they were neat to see out and about.

This one was so clean, I made sure to give him plenty of room!

Wow. I think we have 3 or 4 in town. I love that Aspen/Volare. Quite nice and the color is great.

You hardly see them on the roads anymore here in Central Texas. Between the SUV craze, Texans general fondness for trucks, and the lack of optional rear-a/c in wagons, they were not terribly popular here after the early to mid 80's.

That said, the ones you do find tend to either be really nice or totally worn out. Not much in the middle. Since they don't rust here, they tended to either be locked away as low-mileage older folks cars, or they went to laborers and have been totally shot hauling paint, ladders, lumber and such.

The other sad fate is many were bought and went across the border to Mexico to never be seen again.

On the upside, that makes my Roady somewhat rare now...and it gets a lot of attention, which is fun.

I hardly see any running around the streets of my town. Guess most of them got too rusty from the Jersey winters and were relegated to that great highway in the sky. There is one beat up blue Roadmaster I've noticed a few times, but that's about it.

I've got and had the most of anyone I know, except for my late grandpa who owned wagons his whole life. Since he died my grandma has owned anything but a wagon.

I don't see too many around compared to everything else. I'd say more guys than not drive a pickup as a daily commuter. Most of ones I do see are pretty old and worn like mine. It's been years since I've seen a nice big old wagon. Probably because they're not good in ice and snow, which is on the ground 8 months of the year here, plus we have a lot of hills and horrible ice/snow removal practices. But I know of a few nice shape FWD a-body wagons around here.

Even the good old junkyard I go to has at least 30 a-body sedans and more show up all the time, but hasn't had an a-body wagon in many years.

Pickups are by far the most popular around here, especially with how long winter is. I have one, myself, out of necessity. I drove a wagon for years in the winter, but with having moved farther from work, it's just more of a hassle. Dad always says "I did it for years, just weigh down the back and put good snow tires on it." He lived in Milwaukee, though. They keep the roads fairly clean there compared to the vast acres of farmland I drive past in the course of a day lol!

Not too many around me: dark blue late 80's CS in restorable shape, couple of decent Roadies, a light blue Caprice no wood and a gold 90 or 91 CP that comes out of hiding once in a while, rusting in the usual places but still looking good.

We live near the small town of Chiefland, Florida which is 50 miles west of Gainesville. Anytime we go to town I see several older station wagons. Not always the same ones. Most looking nice and in original non-show condition. Seems we are also outnumbered with pick up trucks. And they are the quadcab type. I do believe quadcab trucks and minivans outnumber everything else in NW Florida.

Haven't really paid much attention, know a neighbor has a little japanese something or other & a gal at my job drives a big old chev of some sort. Take that back, there's also 2 Taurus wagons around the corner. Both are silver, one has purple hubcaps & a purple stripe along the bottom.

I live in the crowded suburbs of Washington, DC. Plenty of BMW, VW Passatt and Jetta, Volvo, Ford Focus, Subaru, Chevy HHR, Dodge Magnum and other newer (2000 and up) wagons. Probably see at least one 90's Road Master or similarly bodied Caprice wagon per week if not more often (don't see the sedans nearly as often). Probably about the same for the later Taurus wagons. Generally, theres enough wagons mixed into the regular traffic that I barely take notice unless they are at least 20 years old or unless theres something special about them.
Once I got the 2002 Passatt wagon, I was amazed at how many I see on the road, and I still am. When I see VW wagons, I always look to see if its a Jetta or a Passatt wagon. They look extremely similar. Just last week I pulled up at a traffic light opposite another light gold metallic Passatt wagon that was a twin to mine. Usually the gold ones I see are Jettas. I usually see black, silver, dark gray, blue, and white Passatt wagons like mine. Only second time I've seen a gold one like mine.
Older wagons are rare sights though. I do occassionally see a green 73 Buick clam shell woody and a real clean all black (with no wood) 71 Olds clam shell wagon. There are a few older wagons that go to the local cruise ins, like 55-57 Nomads, 64 2 door Chevelle wagon, a couple 62 Catalina wagons, a 62 F-85 wagon, a few 4 door Chevelle wagons, and 60's Impala or Bel Air wagons.
But we rarely see older wagons on the road around here.

I forgot to mention that on my way to work, there's a showroom 80's Custom Cruiser. Well, was. It seems to have been replaced by a Cutlass Supreme, 76 or so.
