HandyAndy brought a Fairmont wagon in from North Dakota to Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Piece of cake. The only thing they hit him for on the Canadian side was the Factory AC tarrif ($100) and normal (and exhorbitant) sales tax. We stopped on the US side, presented the documents, and drove across. Took maybe 45 minutes extra (mostly waiting time).

that is because Pa has the strictest inspection standards in the country.
when done properly a state inspection here is very thorough, wheels are pulled, brakes are measured, electrical lines are checked, emissions equip is checked. if you have any light on on your dash...Fail! ANY rust-through is failed...even a pickup truck bed.
emissions....well thanks to Ed "Fast Eddie" Rendell, we've had California Emmissions as of 2005

    You too?!?!?:taz:

    What a friggin scam!

My Province produces renewable Hydro, so much that we supply clean hydro to all the states from Minnesota to Montana and almost down to Colorado, at cheaper rates than we pay!

That's not the Scam, I'll get to it...

Our Hydro makes a lot of money, and builds up its piggy bank for expansion. Our then Premier is now the Canadian Ambassador in Washington - he retired early. The SOB came back from signing an agreement in 2004 with the Gobernator, and then took almost $300 million from our public Hydro, "for future wind generation projects", which have not been built (windfarms) to bail out a US Windfarms contractor during his Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Then his substitute Premier, hauled out another $98 million to finance the new company, and another $50 million from our 'Rain-Day' fund so that he didn't break our No-Deficit law, to finance government operations (We're now $15 billion in debt!) for a population of 1.2 million in a province that is half the geography of all of Mexico????!!!!:taz:

Still not got to the SCAM!

The SCAM is that this company is now building the generation system for the State of California (Windfarms), not us! And we built the grid at a cost of $16.5 billion and gave it away, for free!, to two Alberta, Canada companies, which is 100% powered by gas-powered generators). They kicked farmers off their land to build this grid, they moved entire towns for it, and it doesn't generate one watt of power for any Canadian!

    http://thetyee.ca/News/2011/02/08/AlbertaElectricity/

And the American-Canadian who cranked up the heat on this scam, is pi$$ed! As are the rest of us.

    http://thetyee.ca/News/2011/02/04/KeithWilsonRevolutionary/

But it gets juicier! One of those two companies is one of the main Oil Bribers who kept Gadhafi in the style he got accustomed to. The parent company is SNC-Lavallin. And Canada is now among the worst corporate corruption nations in the world, worse than the USA!:taz:

And who does the Provincial government go after? Not the agricultural polluters (26% responsible), not the Industrial and Transport industries (25% responsible), not the Mining and Oil industries (26% responsible). No! some 15% of the 400,000 cars, pickups and garden tractors that are licensed to operate in our Province (23% responsible!) :taz:

And they can't make their own LAW's goal by 2012! The law has no penalties to the same government! Why do I call them "Pirates Of The Canadian"????!!!!:taz:

Yeah I got a thumb sized hold in my trunk lid. I'd fail for that. If not that, they'd fail me for removing the light bulb from my "brake" light. The prop valve is stuck so only the front brakes work well. The rear brakes still kinda work but they're getting like 10-20% not 30-35% as designed. Parking brake is fine so I know it's a hydraulic problem. Also know because I replaced every single rear brake part back in 2009.

Also I'd probably fail because my dash lights don't work at night but I have the part (headlight switch dimmer is all corroded) to fix it. I wonder if they'd fail me for having two AC controls in the car, one for temp/direction and one for the fan switch? So glad I live in Texas. Inspection here is a cakewalk.

Hell, PA would probably fail me for having a worn through radio antenna cable.

"Ahem....and where might one go to see pictures of your newest acquisition?" re my recent importation of a 1976 Mercury Montego MX Villager

How could I be so negligent?

I just posted some pics on the photo gallery in the Mercury section. She's not perfect, but she's very solid.
