Thinking about picking up another wagon something a little newer I gues around 95-05 but do not like the fwd models so wondering if any rwd are still made. US cars only
I can't think of one. That's the SUV era for those that couldn't stomach a FWD minivan. I was one of 'em, trucking the kids around in a 1997 Expedition (along with the Custom Cruiser).
OK, guess I should have thought of that. Especially since we replaced the Expedition with one. Great cars too!
I didn't mention that because he was looking for an older 1995-'05 wagon. For that matter, look at a 1995-1996 Caprice or Roadmaster wagon. Reliable, powerful, comfy, very spacious and RWD. I'd have a CTS-V wagon in a heartbeat but I'd have to swap the mortgage payment for the car payment and live in it. Hmmmmm....I could park the Custom Cruiser next to it and make a double wide.
The Magnum is a good suggestion but most would have to look at the newer years as I usually like to stay away from the 1st year of a new model. The 95-96 Caprice another good suggesting and more in my price line. But I do like the look of the Magnum Thanks for the help
Seems the suggestions (and the forum) are more US leaning but dont discount the euro wagons. They are the only ones who haven't forgotten us. I'm currently DDing a 325iT BMW wagon and it is wonderful I'd love to see a resurgence of US wagons though. I loved my B-body Caprice wagon and would love to seen some new offerings in the US.
Well, I'm a Subaru nut myself, but the Oldmopar did request US cars only so I obliged. (notwithstanding that Subaru Legacy wagons and Outbacks are manufactured in Fayetteville Indiana, most would agree to consider them a Japanese marque. ) I believe the current crossover craze will be followed by more traditional wagon styles.
We picked up an '06 Magnum SXT 3.5L in 2008; fully loaded (power everything, sunroof, DVD player in console, CD changer, leather, etc.) with only 8000 miles on the ticker. It's been a very reliable, trouble free car.
'07 SRT8 here with every option but the side airbags and the roof rack. had 6k miles, now about 55k, ex-coporate car. Really trouble free except for the shifter thingy that breaks for everyone. Absolute monster of a car, glad it was engineered by Dai/Chry and not Dodge (really an MB parts bin car), wish Chevy would do something similar/comparable/better. Don't think that will ever happen nowadays...
