Hey folks. My name's Matt Burnette and I live in the Atlanta, GA area. Since I just took delivery of my first station wagon, I thought I'd drop in and say hello. I'm active on a few Studebaker forums, so what's one more? The car is this loaded '57 Studebaker President Broadmoor. There is a LOT of detail work to be done, but you get the idea. The engine is Studebaker's 289. With the exception of carpeting, the interior is like-new, too.
Welcome to you, Matt! That's a nice looking, unusual, interesting wagon. You being a Stude guy, could you give us some stats...production numbers; options, original prices, etc.? Just curious for I have little knowledge about that wagon. The mid '50's, on through the '60's, are my favorite years for wagons - really like yours. Appreciate the photo's.
Nice Studebaker. Looks very original and I like seeing all that chrome on a Studebaker of that vintage. I like the color too.
Welcome...not allowed to mingle with Atlanta folks until after Sunday's Falcon,Saints game Just kiddin' around. Welcome and neat wagon!
Thanks guys. MotoMike, I actually live in Fayetteville. Not too far from you at all. As far as my Broadmoor goes.. Studebaker only made a President 4 door wagon one model year; 1957. Only 1530 were built. This particular car is very highly optioned and a pretty nice car. There's actually more options on the car than what's listed here, but here's the original dealer's sales invoice. I just took delivery of the car a few days ago. It's gotten a major cleanup and some other minor things so far, and today I rebuilt the entire brake system. The engine needs a tune up and valve stem seals, then it's just a matter of putting miles on her and sorting out all the bugs. And then, well, putting more miles on.. I'm 21 years old but grew up with Studebakers all around me. I restore stainless steel trim moldings for a living and wanted a Studebaker wagon to haul my trim around, and plus being a long time fan of longroofs, I finally found this one. And yes, the roof rack is staying, I just removed it to buff out the 50 year old paint.
COOL Studebaker. Looks very original and I like seeing all that chrome on a Studebaker of that vintage. KEEP US POSTED ON WHAT S GOING ON AND WE ALL LOVE THEM
Very cool...............like the fact that there are so many guys and girls who like such different stuff.
