WOW....makes you wonder how safe you are anymore. If they have the steely nerves to cut up a bridge at its location and haul it away for sale at a distant location....what else will thieves be doing next? Steal your house while you sleep??:yup:

Sadly here in Florida they are stealing anything expensive with a few dollars worth of copper just to buy drugs and booze. When they get caught they get a few nites in jail and a free meal. Perhaps more people need friends like Mr Smith and Mr Wesson!

This is why I have a friend. Evil people are evil.
At my local Trader Joe's they stole all of the metal drain grating all throughout the parking lot.
Some thieves climbed on top of the roof at work and stole my neighbors copper piping from their AC.

the worst i have seen to date was when we where taking some copper and brass to cash in and noticed a whole bunch of police cars at the yard. We pulled up and was talking to the owner and found out that someone brought in a bucket containing brass statues and stars that where placed on vet.'s graves. The thief cut every piece into 3 or 4 pieces thinking they where going to get away with it and cash in. in my opinion that is the lowest of the low and i think that instead of jail time and fine they should have been deported out to sea

The more jobs that are lost and the more people there are who no longer have morals, and metal prices continue to climb, these creeps will continue to steal. Don't take a nap in public with your mouth open if you have gold fillings. :slap: Those same people would steal their mothers jewelry!

Back in Illinois where we are from there are still many old iron bridges on little used back roads. I would never consider a crew tearing one down as stealing it! Same as a moving truck removing a neighbors belongings. Looks normal!----Now I wonder about some of this major highway bridge work. Are they repairing or stealing our bridges? I still remember when relatives didn't lock the house or their cars. And the old skeleton key was the same one everyone else had anyway. ---------- Those people living in the little house on the prairie wouldn't even have a house now if they went to town.
