    Hullo everybody!
I am new to this forum but some Mopar nuts here may recognize me.I am ususally lurching abut the Dry Dock,or Moparfins,or Moparts. My screen name "over there" is 68CBarge
My Name is Leaburn Patey and I have been a Mopar nut all my life.I grew up in Newfoundland,Canada but have been in Ontario for 15 years.
I just aquired a 1980 Chrysler Lebaron Town & Country wagon.
Anybody know how many were built? I here they are low numbers but a big collectable.
One owner car bought new at a Toronto Chrysler dealership.
Always parked underground and was well cared for.
The son of the original owner has no room for it.
He has not driven it a year or more and will need the usual brakes, exhaust and front shocks.
    Car is still driveable.
It has the slant 6 so it will have good MPG compared to my other V8 powered cars I drive.
I always loved and wanted a wagon.
Now the oppourtunity has risen--from the underground!! LOL
I plan on 17" Torque-thrusts and Diamond Back whitewalls
I am picking her up this Sunday--sight unseen!!
    Here are couple of pics.
    Updates after Sunday!!
I chose my screen name after the Mactac product!! LOL Fake wood paneling is cheesey and cool at the same time!! LOL:D

    I love wagons.

It's just that you don't need to use a gearshift. One speed forward, one speed to the rear. No tranny bands or fluid. No speeding tickets, unless you're driving that BMW steam racer on the Bonneville Salt Flats - 308 MPH. :D

I found a link showing production gumbers of my wagon.
There is no real breakdown between /6 and V8 but a total of 11,100 is still considered low.
1981 sw only a paltry 3,987 wagons go out the factory door.:)
Check it out..This car is heavy and was spendy when new! I am thinking the /6 may have the same MPG as a 318,IMO.

Especially those Slant Sixes. I swear it was a Scot on the engine design team. Cheap on gas??? Downright misers, when they're tuned up, or you can get that big Dual-Four Barrel manifold setup (if you're on the Exxon Board.), and really smoke those rice-rockets. :biglaugh:

OK.More pics after my trek to Toronto.
We were loaded for bear with spare battery, tool boxes, jacks, etc.
After looking at the car for the first time today,I had to leave it behind.I walked away and did not buy it.
The fake wood framing is in bad shape.Try finding replacements!
It is steel with molded rubber .All the clips are rusted and swelled. There are screws through some pieces holding into the body panels. The body itself has surface rust and is easily repairable.
The Super Six has no LeanBurn crap and fires right up.The tranny goes into gear right away and smoothly
    All is not lost.
Car is in good overall condition and needs a good home.
She is still wearing her original paint.Which is good. What you see is what you get.
I could have driven it home,but..
Just too much work for me right now.I was in dreamland wishing for a turn key car.(what was I thinking??? $300.00 dont get much,eh?)
However, the owner,Amir, wants to sell it and not crush it.After all,his Dad bought it brand new right off the showroom floor of Ontario Chrysler Ltd in Toronto. The car was a demonstrator with under 2000 km's on it when he bought it.
So if anyone is interested,Amir will sell cheap!
