Hi everyone - I've been a member here for awhile but only now getting around to posting - relocated from downstate NY to Saratoga County and of course I brought the 1972 Ford Ranch Wagon (poor man's Country Squire) with me. Car needs some repairs but is pretty solid and I have the parts, so once I have the time it will be made roadworthy again. Here are some pictures: FRONT VIEW http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r255/pbardunias/IMAG2199.jpg LOADING ON THE MOVING TRUCK http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r255/pbardunias/IMAG2206.jpg FITS IN NICE AND TIDY http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r255/pbardunias/IMAG2210.jpg Now its in my driveway, gotta build a garage for it. Hope to talk to you all soon!!! Pete B
to the wagon train, pete. Those 72's have style! Glad you decided to join in. Looking forward to hearing more from you and seeing more of that cool 72!
Hi Pete, glad you found the time to post your wagon looks good. Kinda reminds me of mine...except yours is all in one place. Keep us posted on the resto.
Looks like a good solid Ford you got there. Thanks for the pics. I'll look forward to more of them as you progress though its restoration. Good luck in your new home.
Thanks for the warm welcome!!! Thanks folks.... This car was actually in great shape and probably saved my life a few years back - was driving home on the Taconic State Parkway at around Midnight when the biggest deer I'd ever seen walked right in front of the car. A full rack and all on that animal. Hit him square, took out all 4 headlights, the cooling system, transmission lines, and, I found out a few minutes later, most of the brakes. Drove about 5 miles to a pull-off using only the left blinker to see where the heck the stripes on the road were, and the deer was stuck in the front with the antlers sticking up like a hood ornament!!! Once the car was towed home I wanted to fix it up carefully, so all the replacement underhood parts have been wire brushed, primed, painted with several coats of black paint before being put back. Of course that takes time, and as a businessman raising a small child, my wife working in another state for most of the time, the car ended up sitting in the garage. Now hopefully I can work with my nearly teenage son to fix it up, of course he has HIS eyes set on Mommy's old 1988 Mustang which is parked next to the wagon at present. I guess we're going to be busy!!!
to the wagon train. Glad you could join us. Don't hurry. Family and work come first. Always time for the hobby later. Keep everyone posted when you do add something to the wagon.
Welcome! Nice to see another in the neighborhood. I live in Malta 5 miles up the road and just bought a '71 Country Sedan
Mac and Cat, thanks for the kind words, you two are real station wagon enthusiasts!!! "12020".... Of course.... Malta .... We should chat more sometime. I came up in March to run the Chamber of Commerce based in Clifton Park, and of course Malta is a very busy place for us these days with the chip plant and all the new developments. Then again we are busy also helping people recover from the !#$%^! flood. Thank goodness my house is on dry ground. We just officially became Clifton Park residents last Wednesday! Again thanks everyone, it means a lot to be so warmly welcomed to the forum...
Welcome! You are not too far AWAY from me.About 4.5 hours from my house. I do travel across the border often to Syruacuse and Watertown. In those parts, wild turkeys can do as much damage a deer can do,LOL!!
Wow, I believe it... Kingston ON is up in the Thousand Islands region, right??? Lovely area up there!
