I have a chance to purchase a 1967 Mercury Commuter Wagon with only 48,000 mile, 390 v8 and it is a/c and radio delete. It is a dark forest green exterior with a silver green interior. The exterior is near perfect and the interior is mint. Lots of documentation still in glovebox. Only a 6 passenger and no roof rack! Should I buy it? and what's it worth?? thanks!

Looks pretty good. Kinda depends on what you want to do with the car, show it or just drive it as is.

How many miles on it? I'm assuming it has either a 289 or a 390 under the hood, or maybe a six cylinder? How's the interior -- burnt out from the Vegas sun? Might be pricey to replace seatcovers, etc. As gas keeps going up, I have to think the demand for a car like this will shrink, so bargain hard on price. If it runs, drives, and stops, engine doesn't smoke, doesn't leak tranny fluid all over the place, isn't rusty, doesn't have broken glass and you can get it for $1500 or less, sure.

If you want to restore it, be aware that finding body, interior, and trim parts for Mercury wagons is not always easy, I know that from experience.

I should have read this post before replying to your second post with photos. Sounds very good. 390s tend to develop cracked exhaust mainfolds on the passenger side, might want to sniff for an exhaust leak after it's warmed up.

You don't say what they're asking for it, but like I said in the other post, bargain very hard on price and I'll bet they sell it to you or come back later asking you to buy it :)

Good luck, should be a fun car for not much money, and you're not going to see ten of them at a cruise night or car show.
