Are there any of you that may be on the west side? Do you go to the local hang outs, like the one on 67 and Bell on Saturday? It would be cool to get a group of cool wagons together.
    Let me know.
    Matt

I'm on the far west side out by the White Tanks. I have 5 wagons but the 92 "Roadie" is the only drivable one right now. I hope to have my 69 Monaco Wagon going soon followed by my 62 Newport Wagon.

I like MOPAR wagons. I was looking into a 74 Satellite wagon when I found my Chevelle wagon. I do lean more to Chevy but my second choices are the MOPARs I have had a couple.
Do you ever get out this way to the 67 ave and Bell or the 83rd Ave car hangouts?
Good luck with your wagons. Got any pics?

Sounds like you have a cool wagon ! I look forward to seeing it sometime.

Hey man, I'm on the west side !! I'm restoring my 67 Ambassador 4-speed wagon in Peoria, near the 101 (see wagon project page). I might be at one of the cruise spots in a different AMC muscle car for now. I was wondering if they are going to have the shows at Westgate this year.
    Thanks,
    Matt

I am not sure about the West Gate show. I have been so out of the local car culture that I am basically a newbie again. I went to both the friday night hang out on 51st and Bell and the Saturday night hang out on 67th ave and Bell. I was in and out of both of them. I looked around. Saw a very cool 63 Ford Fairlane Wagon. But I just do not know anyone so it is no fun when you are a loner. That is why I was hoping to find other wagon owners on this side of town to hang out with.
    I am on 43rd Ave and T-bird.
So Matt, what is your other AMC?

SWEET! I dig those AMCs. I always admire you guys that have the guts to go with the "Not the usual" classic cars. I have never really been one of those type of HARD CORE brand car guys. I love the American classics. I love cars. I have had just about everything. But Like when I was out looking for this car I have now. I have been sticking with Chevy because of the easy of owning, maintaining and paying for a Chevy is the easiest way to go. For me. I seem to always be able to keep a Chevy on the road, CHEAP. Every time I have gone to another brand. Even other GM cars. I have had bad luck. But it by no means has me considering myself a "Chevy Guy". So you and your buddy there got this from me :thumbs2: for going with something different.

Nice shop. Is that his personal shop at his house or his business? Cool of him to let you use the place and his cars.

Awe, that thing is KOOOWL!!!! I just got my little two car garage in the townhouse I live in. But I have done a lot in it. I even have an alignment machine. I use to be an ASC Brakes and Frontend tech in a previous life. Bummer is that it looks like I will be loosing it. It is my dad's house and I have been renting it for 20 years. It is looking like he is going to have to go into a nursing home and my house is going to finance it. I hope that I can find a good deal on a house rental that has at least a car port in my area.

I do not go to the Pavillions. But I am sure my wagon has been there. I just got it 3 weeks ago. But I am sure the guy that owned it before me took it there.
Cool to see another local wagon owner.

I did go out there. But I could not get there until 8 and many cars had gone. I have been very wrapped up with dealing with my 85 year old dad that it is in the hospital. So I was there all day.
I am going to take a ride out to 67 and Bell tonight. Just to see. I am sure I will not be there for long. but I will wait till the sun sets. But yes, it is hot.
I did see a flat black 67 Nova wagon last night. Never found the owner. It was pretty nice. That is the wagon that is at the top of the wagon list for me just above what I got now. I love those Chevy IIs.
I am so up to doing a route 66 run. My dream vacation is to one day take a tripe from Chicago to L.A. on what ever is left of old 66 in a classic car. The complete dream is in a 57 Chevy. But I will settle for a 72 Chevelle wagon. But that is what I am working towards with my wagon. I want to set it up as a long haul rod run car. Maybe even hit the Hot Rod Power Tour one day. I hope to have it to that point by this time next year. Doing it all as I drive it. I do not want to rip it totally down. If I do that. I will never finish it. That is why I sold the car that I did to buy this one. My wagon does not need a total frame off. I am not worried about a building a show car. Just want a sweet cruiser.
I am sorry I am going on and on here. But! Have you heard of the Route 66 event in San Bernardino Ca. every October? It is one of the coolest classic car event I have ever been to. Look it up. Now THAT is an event we all got to get together for one day. All cruise out there with our wagons and hang out the weekend. It is awesome. Here are a few pics from a couple of years ago when I went to it. A moving car show.

They block off the streets in an old part of San Bernardino and everyone just parks on the sides of the streets and there is a constant cruise going on for 4 days. Very cool.
