    Greetings folks!

I found this car on Hemmings' website. I've seen it on craigslist before, but could never get photos. I really like it. The owner claims the car was painted 20yrs ago and it only has 71,000 miles. The AC is not working and he has not tried to open the sunroof for fear it may not close. Everything else is in working order.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks in advance!

I thought that car looked familiar. Thats been on Craigslist here in Detroit for months.

Sweet car, that would make somebody a very nice cruiser.

It's pretty neat but for that much I'd want to see the engine and underside. The sunroof story sounds fishy. Why be scared to open it unless they know it's not right?

    Hey Chuck,

Have you seen the car in person?

No, I have'nt. But I can set something up and get some pics if you want. Thinking about it, I may run into it at the Cruise next weekend.

That was one of three custom wagons owned by Ralph Levin and sold at auction in March 2010.

The square lamp conversion looks well done.

Looking at the pics on Hemming's again, I noticed the background in the first picture. Thats our main Post Office here in the city. That car is only 10 minutes away from me. Its at an independant ambulance company. They always have some cool cars for sale.

    Chuck,

When I've spoken to him on the phone, he is usually dispatching vehicles. Would you be willing to take a look at it and possibly get some photos of the engine and undercarriage? I'd really like an honest opinion from someone who has seen it in person. I would greatly appreciate it.

Sure, no problem. May not be until Monday, though. We're prepping 4 cars for a show this weekend and for Woodward cruise next weekend. But as soon as I get them I'll post them.

If my day is not too hectic tomorrow, I MIGHT be able to slide by there. I'll carry my camara with me just in case.

It could possibly be a nice ride. Here's the "but"... For $9500 I would expect the seats to match. Still too many unknowns for me to give an educated opinion. The car is almost 40 years old. How was it maintained since it wasn't driven much? In other words the risk of drying seals and gaskets.
It would most likely be the only one in town though!

At $9,500, that wagon sounds a bit on the high side, especially after seeing that other Caddy wagon in Texas for $3,500.

LOOKS nice. Doubt that the tail gate drops down...looks like it swings only....not a 2 way I don't think. Looks like the jump seats are permanently in the position you see them. I don't think those will fold down into a flat floor. Um....it's a Michigan car...I sure would like to see the engine compartment and the underside. On a hoist. And I want to drive it and listen to it, see how that coversion is holding up. Like to know what engine is in there, too. As I say, I think it looks nice from here....but, for a conversion I think it's considerably over priced.:2cents:
