Geeze, scarey...I don't see our comments as bashing. We always scrutinize cars for sale. We have asked about certain areas on this car and joked about things like we always do but I haven't seen anyone bash the car. I think everyone is reasonably impressed but question some things that the poster didn't say or show.

Well,I give up,now I am getting bashed for responding to the talk about my car, Geeze as silverfox said, its just a car,not hiding anything. I never posted the ad as factory wood,or,factory to the year wire wheels. if any one here was really interested in it,they would have asked. I thought it was a clean car,not like most of the floor patched cars from the east. I was planning on listing it here for sale, but,I will have to rethink this now. It seems as most are just talking it down, as to the year, wood, ripped seat, caps, ect. My best to you all negitive people......................

I'm sorry you see my post as a bash. It most certainly was not meant to be. In fact, it was meant to be the opposite. Again, I think everyone DOES think it is a clean car. But ALL cars either have faults or we, as possible buyers, are not made aware of some things we feel that we should have been made aware of by the seller. We question those things and speculate as a group to see how others feel about them. For example; I don't like the color of the wood...is that bashing? No, it's my opinion and doesn't affect the condition of the car at all. Others may LIKE the color. Frankly, I think you may get questions on this car from interested people here.
I did not view this thread as a bashing one and I can say, with all honesty, that my last comments were not meant to bash but to point out that I felt that the people commenting were not bashing but discussing. Sometimes those discussions will tip into a jocular vein but, hopefully, will not be taken personally.

Scarey - I can understand your offense to some of the comments made here about your wagon. Part of the problem here is the intent of this section of the forum.

This section, labeled 'Station Wagon Auction, Craigs List and other Station Wagon Classifieds' is for forum members to post up links on 'for sale' wagons they happen to come across while perusing the internet - not their own wagons, just ones they think we all might find interesting.

Your wagon was one that a member thought deserved a look-see from us here. Generally, our comments are intended to be 'internal' since the ad posters are not usually members here.

We do sometimes 'pick nits' a bit, and believe me, we've seen some real bad ads - and yours is not one of them. My comment on the seat issue was honestly the only issue (albeit very minor) I could see.

    Your wagon is very nice.

Nope fox, I was making a joke about how touchy the seller was, acting like my words of comfort were for him, and then hugging you instead. A verbal sight-gag, that once explained, loses it's silly fun.
It probably would have worked better if I had said ". Aww, there, there, foxy." But probably not.

    David :)

    Scarey,

I'm the one who originally posted your wagon auction that I saw on eBay. The reason I posted it is because I thought it was a nice car. As everyone has said, we don't have any negative intentions here. Any 38 year old car is going to have a few issues and your car has very few issues. Anyways, sorry for any misunderstanding and best of luck with your sale of the car.
