Had to take some pics for the DMV today, so I thought I'd post them up.

Nice pics of the wagon. Why does the DMV want to see pics?

Thank you. They want to make sure that the car is stock for the Collector's plates.

On that note, I haven't cleaned the engine bay, or the interior yet, unfortunately. I just got back from the Wal-Mart to develop the pics, they were closed! Of course.

I am also going to touch up the dealership emblem on the back. It looks sloppy with the faded paint. Plus the Hill Ford Dealership is well known in these parts.

That's the way the racks came on the CP. It's a vinyl overlay, same as the sides of the wagon.

I was wondering why you were getting collector plates until i saw what Wisconsin's requirements are and conditions were.

Here in Minnesota, all you can do with collector plates is drive to car shows, club meetings, and repairs. You are not allowed any pleasure driving what-so-ever. That is why I put regular plates on the Astre. If I want to take the wife out for a cone, I sure don't want John law giving me any crap about it.

I like your new long roof. Even if it is a Ford.

I love it, too. I didn't know these had the wood trim on them. I knew the old 70's Squires did, but I've never dealt with Colony Parks before.

They are very lenient about Collector's Plates here. The only restriction is that it cannot be driven in January. Well, there's a foot of snow on the ground here and road salt in January, so I will be driving my Silverado. That's what I bought it for lol.

I did insure it as a daily driver, as the Collector Car insurance sounds like how plates work by you. It's stupid. I'll just pay the extra 500 bucks a year and not deal with any restrictions and I can always drop the insurance down to storage for the few months of winter.

I'm not usually a Ford guy. I was raised on mostly GM's. Never have owned a Dodge (not a fan, I've seen what my brother went through) I do love Ford's Panther Platform cars. I had 2 Vic Interceptor's before the CP.

Here, I insure the car through Hagerty Classic insurance. The deal is that I have to have another vehicle registered in my name as a daily driver and prove it to the agent by showing the registration and insurance policy I have in place. They allow regular plates with classic insurance. They allow you to place a replacement value on your vehicle. They allow pleasure driving.I forget if there is a limit on mileage but I don't think so.

The classic insurance is very affordable. I asked the agent why it was so cheap... He told me that the reason is that people drive and treat their collector cars better than their daily drivers. I know I do drive a little differently... Slower. Profiling, donchaknow.

I looked at that Hagerty, but I think I was too young to get it or some other BS to that effect. A lot of them I looked at had Mileage limits and I drive the CP every day now, so that'd be an issue. I baby the hell out of all my vehicles, though. Anyone who drives with me complains I drive like a grandpa.
