to the wagon train, Barry. Looks like you found what you were looking for. Glad you found us, too. Have to tell you that the Haynes service books are notorious for being inadequate and inaccurate. Go to eBay and buy a set of used Factory Shop Manuals for your specific car. Some come as one book and others as a set depending on the year and model. Most have more than one book in a set. You will be VERY glad to have the FSM for your car. You will know that all the info is 100% accurate right from the factory. The books were created specifically for the shop mechanics.
Welcome aboard, Barry. Like Fox already wrote; leave those haynes where they are and do yourself and your wagon a big favor by getting the factory manuals. Where from The Netherlands are you??

There doesn't appear to be any 83 Mercury shop manuals available on eBay presently. Keep a lookout for them and check eBay stores that have manuals for sale. Do Google searches, too. Try to find the one's in good shape for the least amount of money http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?...ual&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p4506.m270.l1313
Yep... famous Arnhem Korenmarkt... Worked in Schaarsbergen for a few years, now living in the deep south in a small town between Den Bosch and Eindhoven. These are the ones you should be looking for (but cheaper ): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983...60321109995QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature There is also a board in The Netherlands for US cars.. sometimes manuals are for sale there (might save you quite some $$ on shipping) www.amerikaanseautopagina.com
heheh I have 2 sets for the Fairmont. Each are 5 volumes, and I think I paid $5 and $10 for the sets.
