Evenin' all. Just finished doing my intro and perusing the forums came across this one.Thought I would post pictures of some of my models.I try to collect only wagons now but still get other types occasionally. I have all sizes ranging from 1/144th(N) scale to a 1/4 scale r/c Corvette. Here are a few of them:
Since you collect wagons of all scales, don't forget the Classic Metal Works 1/87 scale (HO) and N scale 53 Ford Country Squires that are due out this month. This summer a 53 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery will also be available. http://classicmetalworks.com/catalog_cmw/index.html#/4
Hey Safariknut , is that a Buick "Y " job next to the Safari ? Uh what scale and I'm assuming they were resin models as no one I'm aware of ever did them in styereen. Ed Shaver
I've also got the '55 Safari. With the package and the billboard with the advertisement. A neat kit. I know of the '57 resin Safari, just have not purchased one yet. Kinda pricey and I have actually never put together a model . We were just too busy as kids and then at 12 I discovered motorcycles and at 14 girls and there just wasn't time to get in to the model thing. Then at 15 got my first car and I've been sort of busy with the cars and the love of my life (wife, not car - it is the "other" love of my life - gotta be careful here). May be time to try to put a model together. Hmmm, got to think about that. I sure do like your collection.
Both the Buick Y job and the 56 Safari are 1/18th scale models. The Safari is a Muscle Machines issued in 2004(?)and very hard to get. They came in both blue and silver.Took me 4 years to find a blue one that was reasonably priced(actually my son found it in a store in Massachusetts). The Y job was made by Anson Collectibles and I bought it on e-Bay from a Guy in England.Never seen it in this country. I also have a 1/25th scale 55 Safari in resin I bought on e-Bay.Not sure of the maker;it had a molded in grille and bumpers and the casting was rather thick.I also made a 55 Safari(and painted it to look like my full sized one)from an X-cel dealer promo(re-issue JoHan)and a 55 Nomad kit.Had a hell of a time shortening the body to get the right proportions as the promo is on the 124 in wheelbase and the Safari is 122 in.The chassis had to be lengthened slightly as the Nomad is only 115 in wheelbase.
I remember a 1-25th scale Pontiac Safari once back in the early 1990's . I actually got a look at it close as it was displayed in a contest in Manassas Virginia . Too bad the club that did that contest quit doing them . They at least got the vendors to show . Thats the primary reason I even bother to show . both was - display, look compete . Ed Shaver
