Well then, here's the basics on the book: There's chapters on stockers, beaters, commercials, customs, drag wagons and wagons involved in other motorsports, with the customs and drag cars getting the lion's share of the ink. It's all presented in a lighthearted fashion and is as much about the owners as the cars. Some are famous cars you're already tired of, so I tried to shine some light on the behind-the-scenes details you may not know about. Most are homebuilt cars, lending a decidedly grassroots flavor to the book. It's a pretty fun read. Deadlines dictated some niches be left out (two whole chapters were cut, also), but there's the possibility of a sequel, if this one sells.

I'll be VERY interested to get feedback from you guys on it! I'm no expert. My first car was a wagon ('53 Ford tudor) and I've had a few since. I have a thing for wagons, obviously. But some details and nomenclature required research, as my main focus is high performance. I'm sure you'll tell me where I screwed up and how credible I come across in the book. All good info to have for future projects.

I'm currently working on 3 other books and some magazine features. It's a load, but I'm lovin' it! Last night, I trolled around this site to unwind and really enjoyed myself. I still can't believe I missed this place, with all the research I did on wagons last year! But I'm digging it now!

:Welcome: Glad to see you found your way over here. OK, so now I know why I didn't see your book anouncement here earlier.

Fannie: A Beaumont would've been the icing on the cake for this book! Next time?

Rev: I guess I missed this site purely because it wasn't meant to be, for reasons that are none of my business. But I'm sure glad to be here now. You guys have made me feel very welcome! And thanks to all who bought a book, too - 'Welcome Wagon', indeed!

Gotta get back to work now. I'll be seeing you guys on the big board...

Welcome and great looking book. I understand about losing a company in this economy. I had to close my race shop in Nov of 2009 and have had trouble keeping afloat since. I also have an 80 Malibu trying to do something with it. Keep us up to date on your future projects and Bu.:Welcome:

Race2win: Ouch! Sorry to hear that. At least we still have our wagons, so nobody can take our fun away. Hope you have as many laughs with yours as I've had!

Welcome aboard Jangleguy. This is a neat forum. Lots of interaction, not the typical stuff I've found on other forums. The annoying folks get ignored till they don't annoy anymore, so life is pretty quiet here. Just good old wagon/car talk. Well, excepting when we start doing a count of Rev's cars. But we get tired of counting and go back to the rest of us normal folks who only have one, two, three or heck, even half a dozen.
