Hello everyone - Does anyone have a clue where I could get a heater control head????? If that is not the correct terminology, sorry. I am looking for the panel that has the controls for a/c, heat, and defrost.

There ya go, cyn. Andy found one. Junk yard should have them too. What's wrong with yours....why do you need the whole unit?
    EDIT:
Did you ever get your low voltage problem solved? If so...what was the problem?

Thanks ya'll. The defrost does not blow out of the top of the dash. I had someone look at it last week. They said the whole thing needed to be replaced. Of course, this particular piece is not made anymore, so not as easy to get. Perhaps, I can get one at a local pipes u-pull-it place for less than $100.00. Well, that would be nice anyway.

Yeah...that thing is pretty pricey for a used unit. Maybe the seller knows something we don't.:49: Do you trust that the guy that looked at it knows what he's doing? I could be way wrong but it seems odd that you would need the entire unit. The problem you describe sounds simpler than that....like the vent door to the windshield not opening.

re: low voltage - I will try to make this a short story. Ok - before I even got the car, there were problems with it starting. I wound up putting in a new alternator. It tested as low voltage also. the one I took off tested as good on the machine in the store. So I got the old one and put it back on. The battery was replaced before I did all of the swapping around with the alternator. Advanced auto tells me the alternator still shows as low voltage. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Gateway said the starter, battery and alternator all showed fine and they could not find an electrical problem. My issue is that 3-6 months down the road I don't want the battery to be worn down and then have problems again with the car not starting. But no problems since I replaced the battery. Very odd.

The batt cable might be bad and wiggling it when replacing the batt may have lined it up again. For awhile. You replaced the same batt, right?

The battery that was on the car when I got it in Dec, 2010 was purchased in July 2010. I put in a brand new battery in February 2011. :bouncy:

OK, so chances are very good that it was simply a bad batt. That's a good thing.:D

Could be - but still - after new battery in - one place shows low voltage and another place tells me all is ok. I guess this falls under time will tell. I just don't want to get stuck on the side of the road somewhere.

Couple of things I would suggest for you, cyn.....get the factory shop manuals for your car (used on eBay) and ask around and try to find a good mechanic that knows older stuff and is trustworthy. Ask car guys where they go. Usually, it's a small shop with an older guy. Both of these would help you a lot.:yup:
