Nice work. What are you using to weld it up?

I'm using my 15 year old Hobart 110 wire welder. All was going well until the bottle fell over and busted the hose off the regulator! That ended the welding for the weekend.:banghead3:

Yuk. Just when you get a roll going. It takes a bit to get the 'feel' for each session. Been there too.

One of these days I'm gona learn to keep my mouth shut, I pulled the rocker trim off the passenger side, and guess what I found? Yeah, another small rust spot on the front fender to fix! Not too bad though, only about the size of a nickle, but more work anyway. Gotta get my welder fixed soon!

All of the trim is perfect for creating rust. My car looked perfect, but the drivers side fender is rotted completely through under the trim.

Just a quick update, I started making the "vents" for the quarter panels yesterday, but wasn't sure if the outcome was going to be what I wanted. Well I'm happy to say it worked! I was trying to figure out what to do about them when I realized they looked kinda like dustpans, so I went to Wal-Mart and found what I was looking for. 97 cents apiece! Too flimsy to use and no real way to attach them so I used them for molds and made them out of fiberglass. Messy but with a little clean up they'll look fine. Also while I'm on the subject, last December, Griswold was making and selling repo crowns. Did anybody on here buy some, and if so, do you want to sell one? I would also be willing to pay someone for the use of one so I could make my own mold and then I would ship it back to you. Anybody???

I saw those... WAAAAY too much money though. I bought a set of NOS ones for less than what he is asking for one of those.

So where did you find NOS taillights? I haven't been able to find anything NOS.

    Found mine on ebay...

There are a few wagons around my area in the junkyards. I need to get some money and harvest some of the rarer specific parts. Most have decent tails...

As for my car... just trying to keep it on the road. Rad blew up, leaking coolant from a few other places, body is shifted 1.5-2", and the motor is making some unpleasant sounds. Trans is also annoying me. This weekend I'm doing bodymounts on a towncar and hopefully the wagon.

Most of the wagons are gone around here, but when one shows up, it's generally a Mercury so different rear end. But I spent my day off Monday going to some of the further out yards (read hick towns) and when you ask about an LTD they all assume your building a demolishion derby car! It seems that's where all the older big cars go! Now I like derbys as much as the next guy, but have you ever been to one? If you have any self esteme issues, they're good places to go to make yourself look REAL good! But I did get the front bumper I needed for $25 and they threw in a piece of trim I needed for my Nova! Bumper was on a derby car but I dont think it was in the derby for very long as it only had a few small dings.
