Take a trip to the library first. I just went through this with my Fairmont. I used the 1981 Capri carb and vacuum system, but no label with a diagram. You need to know if it was a California model or a 49 state system. Chilton manuals have the VECI diagrams, Haynes show a pablum system. So the VECI label diagrams are shown by year, model engine (with or without AC). GM might have had stickers on the valve covers with one piece of the puzzle. I'd recommend that you buy new color coded vacuum line sections. The 1985 Caprice diagrams will be in the 1985 Chilton manual for the Fullsize Chevies. One real head scratcher, that label. You could mock up your own in a good graphics program. I found a nice freebie that will do anything that the pricey ones can do. http://www.getpaint.net/
i cant even find a sevice manual for this thing.. for my lincolns, i was able to download all the diagrams i needed, so i didnt know if someone had some uploaded. youd think they would with it being such a popular car... i want to replace all of my vaccum lines, and make sure they are all going where theyre supposed to.
I just looked in my Haynes and while it has very good electrical diagrams there are no vacuum diagrams. You really need to get a Factory Service Manual off ebay or a Haynes if you plan to do much of anything yourself. Unless you're a gearhead, I don't know... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985...Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item2eb2559748 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985...Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item19c152d88e
