I'm looking for a remote control car for a gift. I 'd like it to look like a real wagon & not a toy with oversize tires & racing details. I don't have skills or finances to build one from scratch. Has anyone seen anything like this in their local toy or hobby stores? I may have to put a model's body onto a toy racing type car if I can't find anything . I'd appreciate any suggestions to my cry for help.

Haven't found a specific wagon R/C car, and I'm not sure what your budget is, but check these out.

    Start with this:

Then paint the body, and swap out the Mustang body for one of the Nomad bodies. No one makes any wagon bodies. The Nomad is as close as you can get.

You may be able to start off with a Radio Shack car that is cheaper and put one of the Nomad bodies on that.

Keep an eye on Craig's list and ebay, you may find a good used car, and then drop on the Nomad body.

That's some great information 200OZ. Thanks for the quick response. Maybe the used method might be the way to go as the price of new with the new body is a little pricey. I'll keep it in mind as a last resort.
