Howdy to all, I stumbled upon your site while browsing wagons in general in google. I'm a 33 year old young fella from Bunbury Western Australia, nearly 2 hours south of Perth. My love of cars started at the age of 16 and has developed enormously since then. I have had a few cars in my time thus far and enjoy doing them up tastefully. I'm also a photographer who has shot for a mag or two in the past few years, (another passion of mine), and love to shoot when the mood presents. I also love detailing cars and have been pedantic over every one of my cars in almost every area. I have always owned Holdens but have also been in a Ford or two. I also do up car show display boards and posters privately for some extra $$. My last car was a Holden VE SSV commodore sedan that ran a 6L L98 V8 engine with one of the Procharger P-1SC-1's making around 454rwhp. Now getting into my own Detailing business named "Next Level Detailing", I needed some more space for my gear and for family things, so had to sell this silver beasty, as much as I didn't want to. After she left, I found one of the Feb '09 built VE SV6 Sportswagons in Voodoo blue, which was in stock form. I so much love the wagon now and having modded it some I'm at a point where there's not much else I want to do to her except for maybe a cat back exhaust. Purely built for Work, family and cruising , not built for racing at all or dyno runs. She also runs the 3.6L Alloytec quad cam V6 which is making around 210rwhp with a K&N intake filter and rear mufflers. Anyways, hope to browse through and read a lot of info on some classy wagons here and meet a few people from outside my square. Regards, Stach, which is short for Stanislaw P.S. Will post up pics of the wagon in the gallery.
Welcome, Stach. Beautiful wagon you ahve there. Us USA-types almost got that here as a Pontiac G8 Safari, but sadly you probably know the end of that story..... Your wagon is very similar in color to my "French Blue" Ford Focus ZTW. I'd gladly trade, though. Not to be picky, but what's the deal with that scoop thing on the hood (bonnet)? An aftermarket part? Your 3.6 V6 is, I believe, the same base engine that comes in our Camaro and a few other GM vehicles. Stick around and join in our discussions. We'd love to hear your down under viewpoint. Marshall
Hey Marshall, thanks for the welcome mate! . The bonnet scoop is a new model from Walkinshaw here in Aus, Walkinshaw is a division that produces licensed performance after market bits for our commodores here in Aus, Tom Walkinshaw originally made the VL Model Walkinshaw for Holden Special vehicles back in 1988. A very unique vehicle with a large spoiler kit. Yeah the V6 does well for a pure cruiser, it's mated to the 5 speed automatic/tiptronic gearbox. Streetwagons.com is one of the aussie sites with lots of commodore wagons of all ages. Cheers again for the welcome fellas Stach
Stach, that is one cool looking wagon; it's screaming that it's hot!! It's lowered, right? I'm usually not a big fan of that, but it looks very sharp on yours. Welcome; we've got at least one other Aussie who's got a white 97 Falcon wagon that he's tricking out. I know it's a huge country, but wouldn't that be funny if you two lived near each other?
Thanks fellas , yeah Shes lowered with the Pedders eXtreme XA coil overs, handles and looks very good . Really like the shape of the wagons.. I reckon they would have done well over in the US of A. Its a 2009 VE SV6 Commodore Sportswagon to be exact . Hope to get over to the States for a few weeks in the next few years, will be taking all the camera gear with me , have shot for a mag or two back here over the last few years and do private stuff to. Also do my own Posters and display boards etc . I know there will be a lot for me to shoot when I do go over, will have to make sure Ive got plenty of mem cards!.
