hello folks, this forum must be the right for me. By the years i have owned a lot of spec. GM fullsize wagon, and i relly love them all. My 65 Pontiac Safari i bought back in 1996, and last year i bought my first clamshell a 73 Buick. I use this Buick as a dayly driver, and the 455 with LPG work here in Norway. But the king winter is soon caming here, and the rubber to the rear tailgate and window need to be replaced. Is it some kind people here who have or know someone who can help me with this rubber. i have try many places, but i understand this is difficult stuff. Perhaps someone know rubbers from other make, who can replace the original ??

    Welcome Tarjei!:Welcome:
Happy to meet another Estate Wagon owner! You just asked the $64,000 question! Tailgate weatherstrip is next to impossible to find for these wagons. There are a few newer weatherstrips that can be adapted with marginal success.

I found the old thread with something for the back window, but all of my photos are gone, and I will have to find them and try to reinsert them.

It is really a marginal "fix", and I will have to do better on mine when it is time to reassemble my '72.

    David :)

A cool looking Estate Wagon in Brown Metallic. Very nice. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

I thought it would have some fancy-schmancy name like Nutmeg Metallic as in '72, but it's just Brown Metallic. No ambiguity there!

So, you got any Fords in the collection? I've always wanted to see the Fords of Norway. :)

:Welcome:to the wagon train, tar. That's a great looking Buick!(y) As Wixom has pointed out...the part you need for your clamshell is not an easy find. Seems no after market company has seen fit to make those weather strips. But, good luck in your search. Wixom is probably your best source for finding something that may work.

Nice looking Buick wag, for sure. I hope you didn't keep it parked there too long; it'd be buried if that snow on the roof decided to finally slide off!

Thanks for this. My car is repainted , and looks like Brown metallic. It is much green in this color, depended lights. I think the original color here is 2542 Taupe Polly. I like your project, nice !!
