Well, the Waygun is working great and in Canada we have the long weekend. ROAD TRIP IN THE WAGON! Going to see my buddy in Wharton,NJ. I have been gathering up parts I have that he needs for one of his projects. Never had any problems with the border carrying "old car parts". A 6 hour trip one way. Did it twice before in my 68 New Yorker. Waygun has a clean bill of health and packed extra part, tools and fluids, etc. I got my CB radio installed for entertainment since she is a factory radio delete car. Oh,and Jesus on on the dashboard,LOL!! Wish me luck and tomorrow evening if you see a big brown Brady wagon going down I-81,or I-380,or I-80.that would be me!! I will be on CB channel 19.LOL!! Happy Thanksgiving Canada, and Happy Columbus day fellow Americans.
Have a great trip. If you're close enough and have time, Saturday is the huge AACA antique car show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Between the car show and the car corall, there should be about 5000 vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles to see. Everything from muscle cars, to Model T's to VW bugs, to vintage stock cars and Indy cars to vintage Mack trucks and Duesenbergs. Then theres also the big Cruise in now through Saturday in Ocean City, Maryland.
Well, with the exception of Syracuse I-80 being a friggin' parking lots, and two pee stops,I got in Joisey without incedent. Weather was great and warm enough to drive with my window open. We figured out the Waygun was averaging 23-25 MPG. Had a great day today and tomorrow will be another. Cheers.
Travel safe. If you need help with anything, give me a holler -- I live in the next town over from your buddy. Weather's gonna be great today, too -- I'll look for ya on the road!!
Hi silverfox -- Yes -- bought it from a friend last weekend (he was planning to take it to Hershey). I'll post a couple of photos in my Garage; will get some more pix later today. Unfortunately, gotta put the '60 Commuter and '61 Special up for sale (I blew the budget on the '59 Olds Fiesta).
That's a great looking 59 Olds Wagon, scohrs! Geeze...too bad about the Commuter and the Special though.
Yeah, but the '59 haz finz! And enough brite work tah keep Barry McGuire livin' fat for yearz tah come. Nice Ride, getz my vote
Glad you're doing such a long trip in your mopar long roof, Waygun. That's truly the way to enjoy it. I'm psyched it was trouble free and I'm sure the return trip will be as well. Enjoy. Steve--talk about understatement. "Here's the new ride" with a picture. That's an absolutely gorgeous wagon and all you say is that!! Congratulations. What a beauty. How many miles are on her? Do you know its history? What a find; I'm jealous!! More pix right away please.

Oh,the border guards love the wagon.Kinda breaks the ice. They had more questions about the car than my business crossing the border,LOL!!!
I left home at 3:40 pm,Friday. At 7:15 after driving 178 miles,I stopped in Cortland,NY to get gas. Fill up was 8.71 gallons at 3.09 for Premium. Average was 20.4 MPG or 24.5 Imperial MPG with average speed 65-70 MPH
