David, how are you Sir? I can confirm that the weather has been horrible. As of yesterday, 22 straight days of 100 degrees or higher!!! I feel like I am melting sometimes and my wagon is INSIDE the garage out of the direct Sun light. Hang it there though, it'll cool down by December. LOL!

Well, I'm kinda bummed...I went by the auto paint shop I have used in the past to see my bud Tony, and get an idea how much a nice paint job costs these days...turns out Tony sold the place six years ago! SIX YEARS AGO! :banghead3: Time sure does fly!

I had just always planned to take my car to him when it was time to paint, because he had done some Lincolns for me, and each job he did was beautiful. Tony was a super guy. (y)

Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm kind of a control freak, and Tony would let me do what ever I wanted, as far as prep. He even offered to let me paint it myself if I wanted...not this new owner. She is a most unfriendly sort. :disagree:

Maybe I will just rent a booth, and paint it myself. Dang it! :taz:

    David

Good question. But I don't even know Tony's last name, and the b...uh...gentle flower that owns the place now wouldn't tell me anything. :disagree:

Oh well, moving on! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Time for Plan B! (whatever that is!) (y)

    David :)

Trace Tony down, Wix. Find him....he may even be painting on the side. If not, he probably can recommend someone for you that he knows and trusts. May even introduce you to him so the two of you can get to know each other and work out what you want and what you want to do.

Thanks Foxy and Carlos, but I'm moving on. I just wanted to vent my disappointment to you guys, because I knew you would understand.

But I'm a big believer in "if it is meant to be, then it will be." I was just momentarily bummed, but now I am already looking forward to a new solution. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

    David :)

(Foxy and Carlos...that would be a great name for a restaurant...or a body shop!)

My sleuthing side is up for this! :biglaugh: Man, if we can find curb feelers, we can find Tony in Texas!

    Anthony or Antonio?

I'd go to the City Business License department or the local BBB or the Bodyshop or Automotive Dealers' Associations or car clubs and find out where he is. Its hard to find good body men that know the difference between fixing tupperware cars and real Man cars!

    Right guys?

Well great way to look on the bright side. I'm sure who ever you use will do a great job! Who knows, it may even be you right? :yahoo:

Ha! I have baby Norm, and big Norm on this! Yowlza!

I'm not sure Tony is even this guy's real name...he is from the Middle East, and I think he used "Tony" because it worked better than whatever it really is. He was so nice to me...the greatest guy!

But he's moved on, and so will I!

Good thing you know your way around a spray gun. Roller painting is all in how you hold your pinky and curl your toes and twist the wrist. :rofl2:

Movin' on... Good luck with it.

Roller painting with Rustoleum does a 20 to 30 ft paintjob. Your gem is worth at least 10 footer.

Some guys have done miracles with expensive compounds and buffing machines, but Spraying will ensure the right diamond finish on the Buick with the extra long name.
