Have just joined, thought I'd post a few things about myself and deep relationships with wagons. My second wife came with a 1979 Impala (this was back in the early 90's) and unfortunately, that one died of rust. In 2000, I came across a pretty nice 1981 Caprice Classic, in Ivory, a pretty standard base model with a third seat, am-fm radio, and one very tired 267ci Oldsmobile engine. I invested some money, installed a new crate 350, a new headliner, and a new paint job in the 1979 one-year only metallic green, and we're now closing in on 185,000 miles and running well. Have kept at things mechanically and it pretty much all works, though the power lock on the tail gate died on me this weekend. Will post pictures soon.
The 1979 died of rust or the wife got c-rusty? Its great to see folks maintain their wagons and then give them a new life, ain't it! Looking forward to the pics.
cuz we respect that kinda thing around here kip...lets see her....the wagon that is....not the rusty wife....
to the wagon train, kip. An 81 Cappy with a 267 Olds engine? Well...you got her fixed up now and running strong...good on ya!
