Friday I spent about 5 hours working on it. I got the pulleys and timing belt on it, got the water pump and housing, and AC/alternator bracket assembly on it. Got the distributor and wires installed, the coils installed. Need to get the alternator mounted, radiator installed, radiator and intercooler hoses installed and do some wire manipulation. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and its not the train.
You'll be chugging along in no time. No point rushing the reassembly. That's where all the foundation work really pays off. Good stuff. Pics when you can, eh?
I like those turbo wagons, as you know, CC. Show us some progress pix! I love those. EDIT: If you ever find a good deal on a nice Chrysler woody wagon with the 2.2 Turbo and you don't want it...please let me know about it! (preferably, a Mark Cross)
I know but I'm ready to put the 5.9 in my Dakota. Silver Fox They get posted up on turbo-mopar frequently. There was just one posted from NY for $500. Next time I see one I'll let you know.
Turbo-mopar.com If its fwd and has a pentastar on it its been turbocharged and on there. Theres even early 70's Colts turbo'd and on there.
Wow, its been a while since I updated this. Basically because I haven't been paying any attention to my wagon. I towed it from my work to my house a couple weekends ago. I swapped my Mopar Performance struts from my Shadow over to the wagon, got the air shocks mounted in the wagon. (not for skyjacking purpose, rather for traction purposes) Got my 15x7 wheels installed and finished stripping the Shadow. Wednesday and last night my buddy and I went over the wiring schematics to get the car to turn over which involved swapping about 7 pins. Now it turns over and the reverse lights come on. Next up is to run the new fuel lines, do some wiring extensions, and installing the radiator and cooling system. Here's some pics with its new to it rimz:
Really sleuthing the gremlins huh? Have you seen this excellent set of articles on Mopar Turbos? This guy is adapting the 2.2L turbos to slant sixes, but he's also done some upgrades to his 2.2L turbos. Lots of details, nice set of articles. http://www.allpar.com/fix/holler/slant-six-turbo.html
I have to be careful what I read. Since I have a slant six still in the Valiant the wheels may start turning with all the turbo Dodge spares I have.
