I am very proud of my engine compartments - while hardly perfect, very presentable, and you guys and gals know they don't just roll out of bed looking like that - it takes work!

    Let's see some of yours

    glad it's not just me

I met a guy at a BOPC show in Atlanta this weekend pics here that asked "do you ever just sit and look at your cars?" I said "uh, yeah, with a table, an ashtray, a cocktail, and the phone off the hook"

Where's all the other stuff? That looks excellent and practical. That light grey makes it easy to find the wires and hoses. Very nice!

Is that pretty or what, Andy? Got me thinking.

Here's mine. Vanilla job. No bling.

That's a stock rustoleum/Tremclad colour - Tan, but it's still dark on a cloudy day. Lighter is better.

Very nice detailing Jeff! For some reason, Ford didn't give our six-bangers any nice decals.

actually I do have a procedure:
start cold car, let idle for 2-3 min to warm NOT HOT (* keep in mind I have HEI on all 3 of my big-boned gals so I do not cover distributor or coil - you may want to - with plastic bag.
mist motor with water just enough to dampen, not soak, engine and compartment AND TOPS OF FENDERS
spray liberally with orange / citrus cleaner (I used to get mine at Advance but they stopped carrying it, any orange / citrus based cleaner works - and it's green)

let sit for 5 min (feel free to loosen any areas with a brush or something - I never do, the cleaner does a great job and I am all about letting the products do the work)
    rinse thouroughly
blow dry (drive a mile or 2) park, and wipe leftover water drops with Pledge wipes (works great on damp surfaces - dries with no spots)

for hard to reach places, squirt a little WD-40
this can is nice because it's spray and stream

    amaze your friends

very respectable Tbirdsps - so nice to see such nice under-hood areas. I am very particular about that a little OCD but not too bad really considering the possibilities really
