It seems every city has Christmas light tours. I saw some guy in eastern Canada that put up 10,000 lights in different scenes on his lawn! He had to add 2 more 200 Amp meters to power them all, and expects a bill for $1,000 for the lights alone, on top of the $1,500 he paid for the extra meters and connections!
Roadking...that is the house that started it all!!!.. ...as far as 'lighting junkies' go Normin...i come by it honestly...My whole family are NOOTZ about Christmas!! My parents house and my sisters house are both on the Xmas Lite tour route I used to go crazy on the outside...but for the last buncha years...ive been focused on the inside (hides the lunacy) Glad you enjoyed it!!....you guys are the only ones that I've showed the video to
I just ran a google for Winnipeg "Christmas lights tour". Some tourist traps are charging huge money for these tours, and you guys pay the bills! I'm a nut too, for Christmas decorations. With all the wiring and drywall/insulation, it was too dusty for this year, but I'm installing special circuits on the new flat roof to do it right (GFCI circuits with 20 amp fuses). It's an old neighbourhood, so some of these homes catch and burn in no time. So thanks, and maybe next year I'll be able to post my own too!
Christmas has always been fun for us until this year. It will feel like more a holiday when one of our sons comes home from Iraq. Then it will be more complete.
I served too, in other fronts, so I track what's happening with our guys over in Afghanistan and Haiti. We just heard of 3 more injured in Kandahar. It's tough on the folks at home. God's speed with that, RK. I wish you the best with that, buddy.
My wife's left me in charge of the Christmas Turkey. She did all the prep work, and made a secret Mexican Stuffing (I gave her the basics back in Mexico and she's added her magic). Anyway, I'm in charge of either roasting it or making burnt offerings!
We've got a 1946 Dual Oven Electric Therm-O-Matic oven like this: And a new Jenn-Air Gas Wall oven. But it's not installed until I finish the renos. Well I restored the old geezer (It's 2 years more than I am), and she's used to gas, so I'm on tap. I rebuilt it, so I know it intimately!
I feel Christmas, guys. I'm listening to Santana's Supernatural, the wife's baking up a storm (chocolate chip cookies) and chatting with my friends -you guys. Special. Thanks.
