No. The only thing the guy did tell me is that it does need a heater core(its currently bypassed) He told me everything worked when it was parked. Well the cruise control switch is broken off the stalk,The AC belt is missing and it looked as though the compressor was gonna be taken of as its missing a mounting bolt.

Im not really complaining though. The car sat for 10+ years and so the memory of what worked and didnt and what was wrong with the car may be long gone.

Im not scared,It just needs to be freshened up.

Damn, even if the motor was toast, it was more then worth the price you gave for it. Now that she is running, you made out like a bandit!!! Congrats, glad she fired and shows signs of real promise.

Hey Steve the CD came in the mail today...Thanks again. Good thing I have it too. I was going over the brakes today and discovered why the car may have been parked.

Its got a REALLY NASTY LR Axle Seal leak. Looks like thats gonna be a task I have to undertake. Ive never done one. How difficult are they? Anyone?

Very easy on a GM. Pull the diff cover off and remove the C Clip that holds the axle in place. It is located inside the carrier. Pull the wheel, drum and slide out the axle. The seal is right there and pops right out with a Regular(flat) screwdriver. You do not even need to pull the brakes off.

So theres no need to remove the rear cover? What about draining the Fluid(Might as well do it as Im doing a service to the seal.

So install is reverse of removal? The axle just pops just back in?

Whats all the talk I hear about C-Clips and such?

My suggestion is to do what I always do. I know you want to continue and get it done right away but I ALWAYS get the shop manual for every car I have owned. You can get them on ebay reasonable and it will be there in a few days. Some models require just one book....other up to three. Be sure to get the official GM shop manual(s). Not Chilton or the others. JMHO

Yes, you must pull the diff cover off first. C Clips are what hold the axle from sliding out, they are located at the very end of the axle, in the center of the carrier inside the diff cover.
