Here is our 1977 Ford Country Squire. 84,700 original miles. All original paint, carpet, and interior. Runs as good as it looks. Even is equipped with the ultra-rare AM-FM Quadrosonic 8-Track! Now just need to find a Quadrosonic 8-Track tape! Lol
Oh, I want to add, thanks to the Forum, we discovered Mothers VLR vinyl-leather-rubber cleaner, which has made the vinyl wood look tons better! Highly recommend! My first day on the Forum and I was helped already!
That looks fantastic! You should be very proud. Also glad to hear you were able to find some help with the existing woodgrain vinyl, as replacement is not normally cheap, nor an exact match.
Thank you HotRodRacer! Yes, I am very pleased with this purchase. I am not fond of Restomods. This is a true survivor.
They're out there! Here's just one on ebay right now. There are more. https://www.ebay.com/itm/155994031955?hash=item2451f80753:g:VjcAAOSwgUplmbXw Note what it says at the lower right on each label right above the "8." "Discrete 4 channel sound." I think "quadrasonic" was a term Ford used for its 8-track players. If you do search ebay, I think you want to search under the term "quadraphonic" rather than "quadrasonic." Here's an actual Ford quadrasonic tape, brand new apparently, and only $13 plus $4 shipping. It would go great with your car. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3553368751...ZXmX/KG11P55Sb+DhohEhoUw==|tkp:Bk9SR879osOcYw
Thank you so much for the links, jaunty.! The Moody Blues one I'm going to pass on because it is untested, but the three sealed tapes look very attractive.
I forgot to add, I had to buy new hubcaps for the Squire on Ebay. When I purchased the wagon the hubcaps were incorrect. Looked like they belonged on a truck or a pinto. I think these ones look very nice, don't you?
I just purchased all three of his (sealed) Quadrasonic tapes! Thanks for bringing this listing to my attention.
Welcome aboard Great looking wagon, sounds like you are having fun with it. This is a great community folks are always willing to share what they know. And if that doesn't work we make it up. Glad you found us.
Thank you Jennifer! Yes, great bunch of folks here. My hubs is having the most fun of all, he has fixed and improved so many things in the two months we've owned it, he just loves to tinker! As I type he is outside installing something......
Things my husband has done in 2-months of ownership includes the following: oil and filter, spark plugs and wires. fuel filter. R/R Carb. All vacuum hoses and lines replaced., lube job. valve cover gaskets. transmission fluid and filter replaced, ,headlight/tail-light bulbs replaced, back up lights replaced, all "Idiot Lights" on dash replaced. speedo cable lubed. E-brake cable adjusted. turbine hubcaps installed (the ones on there were incorrect for the car) Quadrasonic 8-track player installed. Front driver's seat redone. carpet steam cleaned, removed and fixed the clock (now working!). JB-Welded the hood ornament (which had broken off). Glovebox button replaced because it was locked and unable to be opened (we found one on Ebay with a key!) Took a crowbar to break it free! More stuff to be done in the future, priority #1 that damn compressor!
