We had a very nice weekend.

Saturday we went to the local Cars and Coffee.

Made a new friend named Art when we parked.

Art has his Father's 1964 Bel Air 6 passenger wagon. It's been in his family since it was new, just like my car. Pretty dang neat.

On our way home we saw a car wash going on at the tire store. It was a three on three basketball team raising money so they can travel to a tournament.

Always happy to support a good local cause. I appreciate young people putting in the effort.

Sunday after church we went and got donuts and flowers for Mrs. OrthmannJ for Mother's day. IMG_9474.JPG IMG_9476.JPG IMG_9480.JPG

Later in the afternoon we went to one of our favorite spots, the Red Barn at Barrett orchards with Mrs. OrthmannJ, but she wanted to take her car. So, that ended up being a Travels of the Freestyle.
All in all, we had a wonderful time.

I kinda figured. You wouldn’t want it any other way. You make such good memories with those boys! Hope you see grandkids eating ice cream back there. Lol!

Went to the local car show in the park down the street from our church on Sunday. Unfortunately Nathaniel has been sick for the last few days so he was unable to join us.

Caleb and I had a good time though.

Just an aside - How much longer before Nathaniel is driving?

He'll be 15 end on June.
So, to answer your question, he'll be driving (legally) in less than a month.

Wait--did WA change the minimum learning age? I had to be 15 1/2 to get my learner's permit for Driver's Ed, one of the last kids in my class because of my June birthday, and I got it about a week before Christmas Break, for 2nd Trimester.

I'm pretty sure that's the way it was when I was younger as well. 15 1/2. But the way it is now, as long as you are enrolled in a Drivers Ed course you can get it when you turn 15.

Oh, okay, yeah, I think that makes sense, as long as you wait to drive by 15 1/2. Have you taken him to an empty parking lot to practice?

Oh, I'd wager a guess that Nathaniel has had plenty of practice already, including driving 3-on-the-tree Ford pickups on grandpa's farm......

Family having a farm or acreage is a definite bonus, I was driving tractors before I could ride a bike.

I can hear it now " Dad can I borrow the Fury?".
