Unimpressive looking for the price. https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/d/pontiac-lemans-sport-coupe-to-restore/7285766699.html
I would agree, but it's interesting. The Old Cars Price Guide values one of these at exactly his asking price. Their value for a non-running but restorable '77 Lemans is $2500.
That is a very base model LeMans though. I have only seen a few with Dog Dish wheel covers, and no passenger side rear view mirror. But it does have a 301 V8 in place of the standard 3.8 Buick V6.
The colonnade body style guys are some of the cheapest car people I've ever met, almost as bad as the Corvair folks. I can't see someone paying $2500 for the rusty heap this car is, it's an Indiana car so the rust you see is almost surely not the worst on it. If it was a 400 or had some decent options I could see the price being in line.
And not going anywhere anytime fast. 1977 pontiac lemans sport coupe restoration project f/s - cars &... (craigslist.org)
Well they added an underhood shot that confirms it is a non A/C car, and they added a set of Rally II wheels and tires. (off i Blue car I suspect) I agree that I don't think it is selling to anyone any time soon at that asking price.
Sounds like the seller has been trying to sell 'distressed' cars like this for years. He's got the lingo down.... - "Very clean body" (If you say so. I'd be hesitant to call it even 'fair'....) - "Interior is really good" (If this is 'really good', I'd hate to see what your 'poor' interior is like.....) - "Original interior" (Well, the upholstery might be original, but the rips aren't.... he DOES mention the rips though)
Well it shows perspective. The rust around the rear window looks like it’s munched it’s way to the parcel shelf. The car is a complete toilet. It isn’t going anywhere fast. Clean body, great interior... Ok if you say so.
