Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Wow the ‘57 wagon sure looks like it took the brunt of that pile up.

 

Because the vehicle in front of it was a Unibody

 

I’m in sure they were both totals. The Stang looks like it found a friend to run into as well. That parcel shelf and back seat look like they pushed the driver towards the wheel a foot or two as well. My guess is that the Mustang had a fender bender with the guy in front, and the driver of the wagon was paying Zippo attention.

 

Streets look wet too, which I'm sure only made things worse.

 

Yup. A fresh rain, leaky cars, oily streets, sketchy tires and bum brakes are a recipe for disaster. Plus the driver of the wagon could have been a swiggen Mama with a loaded flask. She needed a “little pick me up” to handle the Scout troop.

 

Yeah, Mother's Little Helper used to be the classic gallon jug of cheap Gallo white wine under the kitchen sink. It wasn't until years later that mom dicovered that cutting lines of snow on a mirror was both effective in taking the edge off of the brats getting on her already frail nerves and also helpfull for keeping alert in traffic. Killing two birds with one stone, you might say

 

That Country Squire looks pretty good for at least 4 years old. Interesting she’s driving it with the park lamps on. Or she’s making a turn.
