I saw a 76 Vista Cruiser last fall, no extended roof after 72

Oh, dear. All we needed was one more garage artist. Joe will be thrilled, to read that

The year of '61 is correct. The 2-Dr Nomads were from '55 to '57 and the 4-Door ones from '58 to '61. Then it was picked up later on in the Chevelle Wagons as mentioned. A little strange though, the name Nomad was the top of the line in the early years and the bottom in the later years, but yet still well in demand.

There was also a '54 Nomad, but just a one-of as a Motorama car for Chevrolet. For unknown reasons, it was destroyed by GM in 1958. It would have been a great museum car today. Although there are a few replicas out there. Some pretty accurate.

Hey, I wasn’t meaning to insult the Nomad purists. I picked it up from a guy who had his life in it and was on his way out with cancer. Over paid, undersold it, but hey, it was called a Nomad. Not my fault!

It just goes to show how destructive GM was. They should have destroyed Northstar Cadillacs, instead. One 1954 Nomad is worth more than all Northstars on this planet put together

Yoeman, That may be the same one I posted the "progress" photos of. There can't be many of them out there!

OrthmannJ: I wondered about that. The "in progress" does not have the gas filler door on the driver side nor does it have same front fender trim ("birds" and gills) but those would have been relatively easy changes made. Regardless, beautiful works of art!

Would have been great if GM made them that way.

That said, I had a '58 Nomad (4-Door of course)
