They could have simply removed the offensive decor.
Financial problems can be solved, through internal audits and, in severe cases, external consultancy

Back then, by the time they realized it was a liability, it was already too late. I remember when the location here in Everett closed down, after the racial allegations were made, the name was changed, along with the Sambo's sign, but too late.

What did the name have to do with it?

LONG Wikipedia article, but here's the entire story of the 'Black Sambo' controversy, and side controversy involving Sambo's Restaurants....

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Little_Black_Sambo

The article mentions that the 'Sambo's' in Lincoln City Oregon is an independent restaurant, not part of the other Sambo's chain, and is actually called 'Lil Sambos'......

The Sambo's chain actually took its name from combining parts for the founder's names, Sam (Sam Battistone) and Bo (Newell Bohnett)

It's unbelievable how these Snowflakes who go on hair-growing-on-an-egg safaris nitpick about anything they can dream up. So, what's next? Will they be torching Mercedes products, just because some of their buses were converted over into having the tailpipe extended into the bus itself? Will they be going out of their way, representing mentally-handicapped persons, because of this?
How about this German automotive care product manufacturer. Will Snowflake commandos start raiding auto parts outlets, because of the first syllable of the products name and the coincidental logo which features a silhouette resembling a silent film's cake walker holding a ladder, despite the word in question not existing in the German vocabulary?:

It just ain't like it used ta wuz!
I went to Pekin High school, exactly opposite Peking, China, which also changed names. The gym floor and many things had a picture of a dragon. We were known as the Pekin Chinks.......
Oh my, racist. I believe half of the schools and sports teams had to eventually change their names because us old people were racist when young and had no race problems. For our school it was simple to just change the name to Pekin Dragons.
This was all that was left of my old high school. Even that couldn't be saved by a city who cares nothing about history.

Your city might be infested with an underground Snowflake council? It wasn't enough that they had to abolish Pekers:evilsmile:

"Nigrin" may not be officially in the German language, but it does refer to something 'negroid,' i.e. black, but not solely humans with black skin. I mean, I go to a Mexican restaurant and order a "Negra Modelo;" does that make me and the beer makers racist? No, as the 'negra' is the conjugated form of the Spanish word 'negro,' meaning the color black or referring to 'dark.' It's context that ultimately determines if something is racist, and not all contexts are racist in origin.

Big commotion here in Oregon about high school mascots - ones with what some would consider derogatory to native indian culture. Some have already changed. There's also South Eugene High, who's nickname is the 'Axemen'. People are complaining about that one, when in fact the 'Axemen' refers to the early lumberjacks that harvested Oregon's forests.
