Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Grove Rambler, Garden Grove, CA.
This little dealer would have been about 1.5 miles south and .5 mile west of Disneyland. When we first came to Orange County in 1981, I remember seeing this building on the North side of Garden Grove Bl. - I don't remember if it was an AMC franchise at the time, or something else. A year or two after that, the City of Garden Grove started a redevelopment project, and it focus was to move all the dealerships in the city to one area, along side the Garden Grove Freeway, about .5 mile south. Old dealerships are all gone, and replaced by newer retail developments. It has benefited the city for sure, with much increased tax revenue.

 

I get curious on some of these photos posted.
In this case, the street shown in the photo looked 'familiar', but I couldn't actually place where it was. I did notice the palm trees, and a vehicle showed a California plate on it (so it wasn't Florida...) Curving coastline in the background.......

I thought it was somewhere around Santa Monica, but I couldn't match the somewhat wide, curving street with anything on Google Earth.
The 'Qualitee Dairy' truck was a clue, so I Googled it. It was a San Diego-based company. Starting 'driving' down the coast in Google Earth, and found it.....

Turns out, I've never been on this street before. Been near here, but not to this location.

 

The only way to be sure would be to relate a satellite view of the bay with that 60 year old street shot. That palm tree pair just left of that yellow line seem to be narrowly distant from one another than the pair in that '58 photo. Without more reference points, they're position can mislead, taking into account the topographical changes resulting from the numerous earthquakes that took place, since then

 

Good catch, KK! Don't need no satellite, position of the moons orbit, etc, to tell YOU nailed the location perfect! The apartment now a "Condo" I'm sure to the left is clearly the same building not to mention the view.
