"Where'd you get the neat Impala?" Dude, I feel your pain. "Hey, nice El Camino!" You'd think that someone who knows the name 'El Camino' would know the difference between a Chevrolet and a Ford. And, of course, always a dude, never a good-looking gal around my age....
Hey I haven't driven it much but I've gotten "hey nice Country Squire" on my Colony Park... I know, I know, picky picky....
congrads, always loved these and thanks for the rescue this one has been for sale for a while, but love the color, not the price http://www.orlandoclassiccars.net/1977_Oldsmobile_Toronado_Orlando_FL_264321485.veh he dropped the price a bit, was $12,500
Very pretty car for sure. But the demand for these is not high. It is a dealer, and they're always priced higher than the surrounding countryside. This one is a '77. There was a difference in the grilles between '77 and '78.
Progress Report. Stopped by the paint shop today and took a few photos. It's nice not to see that surface rust any more. He thought he would be finished in another 1.5 to 2 weeks.
Of course, by the time the car is completed in all respects, there won't be much left on it that was actually made in 1978!
I hope that means you putting that fat Toro on a diet and swapping that fat smog mill for a lean muscular 425. Those bumpers alone are plenty of excess ballast. Typical GM common sense. Maybe, they coded it this way, so that suspicion would arise, had the numbers have gotten cut out and welded onto a stolen 4-door Toronado not produced in Lansing. Perhaps, the board executive brain children were passing the crack pipe, back then?
Unless you're already planning to replace the padded vinyl top, you might want to ask them to protect it with some cardboard panels, or something similar.
Hahaha! In these guys defense they are doing it to a rather up lifting band. Reminds me more of "the rock-ettes" and less of global domination
