I might actually get this thing back on the road someday!!!!! Picked up new carpet, new headliner, found a rechromed back bumper, '70 Cutlass console and shifter, and some other pieces I need, as well as adding new 18x8 and 18x9.5" wheels and tires.

You KNOW you want to see this thing back up and running, Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!:rofl2:

Nope...one that I WISH belonged to me. The poster is a friend, mechanic and garage owner in my town. Super guy. That's his wagon. He's an Olds guy through and through. I once sold him a 650 HP Olds 455 and he has that in a 72 Olds race car. I also sold him the car. It was a 72 Cutlass that he built into a race car. AND...he bought my 88 Buick wagon after I wrecked it and has THAT built 455 from my wagon in his WIFE'S Olds! He can attest to the beauty and speed of my old Electra. I am surprised to see him here and hope he comes back. He is usually busy building stuff or on the Olds forums. That wagon he is doing started out stock....he is doing an amazingly beautiful job on that wagon.

Well Mike, I remembered you saying something about the station wagon forums, and as I was looking for parts last nite, I stumbled across this site, regognized the name, and voila!!!! Here I am.

Sorry for being rude......forgot the intro. I'm Shawn, I own an auto repair and performance shop, with some resto work mixed in (currently restoing a '71 Jeep CJ5, and converting a '68 Mustang over to TBI injection)...also BIG into Olds, I have 5 (yep, Mike..I bought another one!), a '69 Cutlass S, 'the 70 Vista, a '72 Cutlass S drag car, a '74 442, and a '79 Cutlass Supreme setup for a big block Olds, as well as a '97 K1500 GMC lifted 9" with 37's, and a '96 K1500 Chevy lifted 3" with 33's.

I've had this wagon about 6 or 7 years....started out as my tow car for the '72 for the dragstrip, one thing led to another, and.....well, you know how it goes.

Currently it has about 55,000 original miles, came out of Kansas where the interior got wasted, all the trim disappeared, so I decided to do it the way i wanted...shaved the drip rails, door handles, any remaining trim, lowered it and installed 17" wheels and tires......then lost interest and it sat for 2 years. Drug it out last fall, and since then have gotten new carpet and headliner, rechromed rear bumper, added the OAI hood (still need to finish), new rear suspension, new 18" wheels and tires, gathered some other odds and ends, and hope to get back at it whenever I can find the time........

Well don't lose interest again. I'm sure that many, including me would like to see the progress as it goes along. (y)
