Hi, I am located in Vancouver,WA. I currently have a Datsun 510 wagon. I am looking to get back into a full size. I have owned a few wagons - 1963 Merc, 1972 Malibu, 69 and 2 70's 510's. My first car that learned to drive was my Mom's 1970 Coupe Deville - 500ci TriPower - she had no idea my Dad bought it for her. I was lucky enough to sell all my baseball and comics to get my first car a 1969 LT1 Vette. I went on from there to GTO's I had a few. In between fixing one of the GTO's I needed a car to drive. My Mom worked with a guy who was leaving the US and was selling his 63 Merc wagon. So $400 later I had my first wagon. I had the car for three years. I gave it to my brother when he turned 16, and he drove it into the ground(blew the head gasket) it did have over 200k. I sold it to a kid from my old high school and about a month later it blew by me on the freeway. I picked the 72 up from being towed away. The guy said it had a bad rod. I drove it home and it did have a bad rod. I pulled the motor but it was to far gone. I had a big block from another car, so it found a new home. It was a monster to drive on the street so it was only used at the track until I traded it to friend for his HD. The Dot's started when I was in high school a friend had got a 2dr from his brother. His brother had replaced the 1600 motor with the motor from a 2000 sports car that Datsun made for a couple years. So around 1975 I picked up a 2dr(1969) from there I started getting people in my area wanting to know if I wanted any parts or other 510's. I came across my first 510 wagon in 1978 and I was hooked again on wagons.

Was that the B210 engine. That was a hot machine. My college roomie had one. I had 2 big converts and he went and bought a loaded 240Z, drove it like a nut for one evening and went back the next day to trade down to a B210. Told the dealer that the 240 was too much power to tempt him with. :rofl2:

Good to have you aboard. :Welcome:

Thanks for thinking of me. But right now I am going to shop around for a mid to full size GM wagon. I was thinking of a mid size Malibu(87) - Buick or a Caprice/Buick(89 or 90) BIG. I have had a small car for a while now. Plus I would like more space as I drive a route and haul a few boxes every now and then.
    Thanks

I started with a 1966 GTO. It was a plain Jane for street racing. No power steering, No power brakes, No air, No radio. It had the HD 389 from the Cat/Grand Prix - power heads with a HD cam and 4 speed. I then won a 65 in a poker game. It was another 389 with a 4 speed. I had the car a week and someone stole it. I got another 65 from a guy I worked with at Control Data. His wife was going to burn it in the driveway if he did not get rid of it. It turned out to be my last GTO and the one I made the most money from, it was a NASCAR setup with the 421 with a 4 speed geared for top end speed 6 lug wheels. A very nice car but I new why he was not driving it the gearing was way off for the street. You could leave it in 2nd gear and drive all day around town. No first gear, 3rd was good after 90 and if you could find a LONG open road 4th would only hold you back until you ran out of gas. I never got any history on the car but I did not keep it very long. I moved onto a 1970 El Camino which I bought new with a BB and 4 speed. I still have the car I keep at my Mom's house, she lives close to the track I used to race a lot at Sears Point - North Bay San Fran. I should sell it but it has been a very nice car to drive lots of power with little lbs to move around. I guess you could say it is almost a wagon it just missing the roof and some glass.
