    Wagon updates

I pulled the engine out of my 1968 Caprice wagon and replaced the original camshaft with a hydraulic roller with the same profile. With as much time as the car just sits I was not surprised to find 2 lobes going flat. Also had original Q jet restored/recolored/replated looks like brand new.

Once I freshen the engine compartment I will add a couple of photos.

I also had the disc brake calipers sleeved. Chicago Corvette did a nice job for a reasonable price. Hopefully I have resolved 90% of my nuisance problems for the next few years.

Finally had to replace the front bumper cover and all the plastic shields on the underside. The only complaint my wife has with the car is that the front spoiler is to low as it will get caught up with any parking lot concrete stopper. Over the last 8 years I've been able to,put it back together but this last time I was driving and it would not go back into place. Looks brand new again with the new one on.

I had a Magnum too, aw well as a few more super low vehicles that made the front end of the Magnum look high ;)

I got into the practice of backing in everywhere, at first it seemed a bit daunting but once I got thru my head I have three mirrors; and I just needed to use them, it is so much easier and also it is quicker to leave. Only was not a good thing if I was golfing and needed easy access to my trunk in a back to back line up of parking!

Yesterday I reinstalled the front differential and got the windows tinted today. I tried checking the fluid in the transfer case, but I stripped the head out. I'll have to get it out before I leave for my drive to Colorado early Wednesday.

Picked up my wagon last Sunday from AK27. It's a 1973 Pontiac Catalina 6 passenger. I removed the 1970 style brake controller, cleaned up some of the old wiring, replaced front brake pads, adjusted the choke on the carburetor, and diagnosed the non working fuel gauge. Now I need to find nice set of wheels and tires for it and detail it

I have had ALOT of clams 101volts. I just never keep them. I keep waiting for my holy grail of them to come along. 1976 Caprice Estate. I will get some pics of the Pontiac after I get it cleaned up. My son has been driving it to school in the rain the last few days

Oh. From what little context I had before (Not keeping up with every post you've made here) I didn't realize you've had such a car before.

And thanks, It'll be nice to see the pics. :)

No problem man, just giving you a hard time. I have had 6 driver clams in the last couple years. Some I should have kept, but always waiting for that "perfect" one

Bought my wagon a new indoor parking spot. Still got a ways to go before we can move in but I'm looking forward to getting my current house sold and getting my wagon into that roomy garage!

I'm pretty excited. We still have to sell our place and sign off on some stuff so we're not there yet but my fingers are crossed. We just learned today that the wood fireplace insert in the basement needs work and we'll need to promise never to use it in order to get insurance. I had planned to put a gas insert in there anyway, but it's a little disheartening.

The garage isn't as large as I would have liked but it's plenty large enough to work inside there all year round. The basement has the makings of a super-cool mancave once I get my theatre and network gear in there and the current owner let me keep her pool table! :29:

It's even got a jumbo back yard for The Mrs! (The dog house was negotiable so that won't be there if we move in. Pretty weird)

Cyber, that is a "I'm jealous" back yard, blow the back wall out of the garage and have a drive through garage doors on both ends (we looked at a house reno'd like that but to many issues to buy the place) and build another shop and still have a huge yard:yahoo:! What do you back onto another house, park, etc? I see a tree line to the left so to me that looks like you have a quiet area witch IMO is a bonus in itself and what size is the lot?
